Overview:
The Warehouse Team Lead II will lead the assignment of work to warehouse personnel, provide real time and documented training and feedback to associates, champion safety awareness and ensure jobs are completed correctly and efficiently per process and productivity guidelines.
Where required, the WTL II will coordinate unloading/loading of inbound/outbound shipments in accordance with procedures, and ensures inventory controls are maintained. Provides warehouse services assigned through safe, efficient, cost effective and accurate handling of customer products.
Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
Unloading inbounds, loading outbounds and staging in accordance with procedures or coordinate the sameInsuring Inventory Control and Storage accuracy thru cycle counts and physical auditsProviding support to team involving product damage, quality and safety issuesPlanning and organizing work schedules and ensure jobs are assigned correctly and efficientlyProviding support to the Shipping and Receiving Clerk and employees on the teamCovering shift mgmt responsibilities in the absence of a supervisor or team leadPerforming job functions of an MH II or III as directed by senior WTL or management team memberPerforming housekeeping activities, assembling crates to contain products and/or moving loose materials to containers as directed by a team lead or supervisorProviding hands-on training through demonstration to associates in all assigned tasksKey Results:
Assist in the application of the APL Logistics Continuous Improvement (ACI) Model for operational efficiency to improve business process, increase proficiency and increase efficiency through waste eliminationDrive the application of the 5S Lean methodology to sustain a safe, clean and orderly facilityThe position requires the incumbent’s performance to routinely meet standards as set by the company for safety, quality, productivity and customer serviceQualifications:
Minimum 1 year warehouse or related work experience requiredMinimum 2 Years forklift/material handling skills required and Equipment Certification requiredAbility to read and comprehend basic instructions, to interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and proceduresAbility to write legibly and have basic math, computer and data entry skillsAbility to make decisions on customer acceptance based on past experience and fitness for useAbility to communicate in a professional and positive mannerAbility to lead others to complete work requirementsMust have attention to detail for continuous mental and visual attentionAction Oriented and Results DrivenSolid command of English, both written and verbal; Spanish speaking a plusAdditional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
