Primary Purpose of the Position
The Team Leader Pricing Operations manages execution of all incoming price setting requests for all North America (NA) Product Business Units (PBU): Consumer, Commercial, Aviation, Race, & Mickey Thompson working together with Akron Pricing COE.
This position will partner with the Sales Enablement/Category, Sales, Finance and Billing Teams throughout the Price Setting and Rebate Process to execute Pricing Waterfall elements in alignment with overall Customer and Product Strategies. The role will leverage data and business insights to guide informed pricing decisions, understanding the impacts of various pricing levers to drive margin optimization and realization.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
Leadership and Team Management: Lead a team of pricing professionals, including recruitment, selection, development, coaching, and providing feedback, in alignment with corporate objectives. Operate with a sense of urgency and foster a collaborative environment focused on results, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing. Inspire the team to consistently deliver in a high-demand, performance-driven environment. Price Setting and Deal Management: Support the pricing strategy by reviewing and completing price setting and customer-specific Price Waterfall elements for all PBUs. Utilize the Vendavo Pricing System (Price Manager and Deal Manager Modules) to execute B2B and B2C pricing, ensuring effective operations for the Sales, Sales Enablement/Category, and Finance Teams. Maintain pricing conditions, including deals, programs, and rebates. Cross-Functional Collaboration and Partnership: Collaborate closely with key internal stakeholders (Pricing, Sales, Sales/Category, Finance, Billing) to drive pricing strategies that support business goals. Assist with the price setting process and support deal negotiations to drive ensure timely and accurate execution in the system, driving margin realization. Partner with the Product Business Units (PBUs) to identify new opportunities and promote best pricing practices. Business Support and Troubleshooting: Provide timely and proficient guidance to internal clients on all aspects of price management. Serve as the Business Process Expert for pricing execution and systems. Drive Level 1 and Level 2 support for optimal pricing actions and system solutions with detailed knowledge of standard invoices, sales programs, and rebates. Compliance: Oversee adherence to business rules (e.g., Price Setting Guidelines, SOD, Approval Workflow) and alert the pertinent teams when rules are not followed appropriately. Maintain pricing processes that conform to key business controls and SOX compliance. Ensure team members are equipped with the knowledge and understanding of SOX compliance requirements and consistently follow them.Education & Certifications
Required:
Bachelor's degree in business or related field.Desired:
Minimum of 2 years of experience with data entry/vendor management.Experience
Bachelors’ degree in business or related field. 5 or more years of experience in Sales, Business Support, Operations or related functions in consumer goods organization. 3 or more years of experience with B2B and B2C Pricing. Proven ability to develop, guide, train and manage a team of individual contributors, while also being comfortable acting as an individual contributor. Experience working in a fast-changing environment that requires strategic thinking, results-oriented decision making and a commitment to excellence. Experience with cross-functional collaboration.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Masters’ degree in Business or related field or MBA preferred. Knowledge of Deal Management Tools and Processes (as part of the Pricing Function). Working knowledge of Vendavo and other related Goodyear Systems preferred. Demonstrated ability to compile and synthesize inputs in order to generate Business Insights. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite; SAP and pricing systems/tools preferred. Strong communications skills (expert written and verbal English skills).#LI-MC2
