As a Reliability Team Lead, you’ll lead a high-performing maintenance team, drive equipment performance, and implement continuous improvement initiatives. Key responsibilities include:
Supervision & Team Development
Lead and develop a team of maintenance technicians across multiple shifts. Assess skill levels, provide training, coaching, and development opportunities. Set clear expectations, track progress, and provide feedback, accountability, and recognition to drive performance. Audit work quality and provide real-time coaching. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and problem-solving.Process Optimization & Equipment Reliability
Drive continuous improvement through Kaizen events, RCAs, and corrective action planning. Utilize trend analysis, 5-Why, and other lean tools to enhance maintenance processes. Partner with Reliability engineers to execute equipment improvement projects, refits, and new installations. Ensure alignment with OEM specifications and maintain validated equipment per FDA regulations.Collaboration with Reliability & Operations
Work with the CMMS team to balance workloads and optimize planned and preventative maintenance. Drive equipment owners to review and update PM procedures annually and after major breakdowns. Partner with Operations to minimize production impact during major equipment outages. Communicate equipment downtime, root causes, and corrective action plans to key stakeholders.Project Leadership & Stakeholder Collaboration
Lead initiatives to enhance efficiency, production output, cost savings, and safety. Work cross-functionally to execute improvement projects. Participate in Kaizen events and leverage structured problem-solving tools (RCA, A3, 5-Why, PDCA, DMAIC). Partners with Engineering to evaluate equipment capabilities for new product development.Safety & Compliance
Ensure all maintenance activities comply with OSHA, GMP, and environmental regulations. Implement mistake-proofing devices, controls, and processes for production equipment. Maintain comprehensive documentation for all process and equipment improvements. Who We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or similar Experience: 3+ years in industrial maintenance, manufacturing, or process engineering, 2+ years of supervisory experienceSkills & Abilities
A leadership style that values teamwork, accountability, and employee development Ability to assess potential failures, prioritize maintenance activities, and allocate resources efficiently. Practical knowledge of 5S, Kaizen, TPM, and value stream mapping for improving maintenance efficiency. Hands-on experience with problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities for equipment issues and root cause analysis Strong communicator with the ability to clearly explain technical issues to all cross functional parties. Knowledge of OSHA, GMP, and safety regulations in manufacturing.Working Conditions
Exposure to hazardous machinery, noise, vibrations, and odors. May involve handling hazardous waste, requiring initial and annual safety training.
