Team Lead - Taxation

What You'll Do As a Team Lead, you’ll handle lodging tax forms and file returns for US states/counties/cities. You’ll support the compliance team to ensure timely and accurate filings, collaborate with tax personnel, and improve team processes. Exceptional customer support and accurate, timely tax return preparation are key responsibilities. What You'll Need to be Successful You will be managing Lodging filing/preparation tasks for team sizes of 10 or more You will oversee and manage tax processing in the team (50% of the time) You should manage compliance credibility checking tasks for the team to meet regulatory requirements. You should own attainment of high employee satisfaction and retention; lead development of programs and initiatives within the group to attain high employee satisfaction. You must possess strong interpersonal, organizational, presentation, and facilitation skills You should be able to set goals for yourself and team members at all IC levels. You will hire and develop team members for growth. You need to Identify needs and collaborate with SMEs and L&D. You will regularly manage performance discussions. You ensure timely and accurate tax submissions, meeting Avalara’s targets. You will have to work effectively with all stakeholders, avoiding escalations. Handle Exec and Client escalations and propose CAPA. Ensure profitability from extra client issue hours. Establish and follow strong filing processes. Work closely with onsite teams and stakeholders. Identify and pursue automation opportunities. 2 years managing a team; 8-10 years overall. Graduate degree/MBA in Finance preferred. Intermediate to advanced MS Excel; proficient in MS Office. Excellent English (oral and written).
