Location/Division Specific Information: Our Hillsboro site produces world-class electron microscopes used by scientists and engineers to drive innovation around the globe. This role works collaboratively to produce high-quality components used in the world’s finest microscopes operated by scientists like Nobel prize winners and researchers who imaged the COVID-19 virus. The 2nd Shift Team Lead of Manufacturing is responsible for leading a team of hourly colleagues within a test and assembly manufacturing environment. The primary responsibilities include day-to-day oversight of departmental goals for Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, Productivity and Employee Development. Additional duties include maintaining and repairing specialized equipment to established parameters and specifications. This position collaborates with the entire manufacturing team.

How will you get here?

Education

High school diploma or equivalent required2+ years of education or equivalent experience that demonstrates required skillsMilitary Technical Training in lieu of a technical degree may also be considered

Preferred Experience

Experience with low volume, highly complex manufacturing processesDemonstrated ability in successfully leading a team of colleagues5+ years of manufacturing experience with at least 2 years in a leadership roleExperience working in the field of electronics and proficiency in ultra high vacuum strongly preferredExperience in lean manufacturing, 6S and continuous improvement a plusExperience with Windows-based and MS Office programs required(Word, Excel, Outlook and Access)

Ability to lift up to 35lbsAbility to sit or stand in a cleanroom for an 8 hour shiftAbility to use multimeters, oscilloscopes, soldering irons, etc.Knowledge of electronics manufacturing, equipment repair, high voltage, and ultra high vacuumAbility to read work instructions and schematic drawings while performing basic troubleshooting of tools down to the component and software levelAbility to analyze and address problems independently as well as collaborativelyAbility to support projects, perform training and work efficiently as part of cohesive teamsSelf-motivated, self-starter with strong interpersonal skillsStrong interest in learning new skillsDemonstrated skills in developing team members to their best potential.Comfortable operating in a cleanroom environment using appropriate PPEStrong verbal and written communication skills, successful in partnering with colleagues of differing cultural, language and educational backgrounds
