Team Leader, Service Workshop

We are now looking for a dynamic and people-oriented Team Leader for our Service Workshop in Rubbestadneset, Bømlo.

 

 

What will you be doing?

 

As a Team Leader in our Service Workshop, you will manage a skilled team of Mechanics, Supervisors, Trainees, and Operators. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that the right resources with the right skills are available when needed, optimising resource utilisation. You will focus on enhancing and maintaining employee motivation, fostering competence development, and supporting professional growth to achieve high performance levels and a positive work environment.

 

 

Your responsibilities for the role include, but are not limited to: 

 

Planning and optimising the utilisation of own team. Supporting the professional growth and competence development of team members by creating development plans and identifying potential growth areas based on company needs. Ensuring employee motivation and satisfaction. Acting as key point of contact towards educational institutes. Managing and promoting effective communication across multiple stakeholders. Acting as employer’s representative, understanding and demonstrating the company values in this managerial role. Daily follow-up of employee needs, such as sick leave, agreed time off, vacations, changes of positions, and retirements. Encouraging and initiating continuous improvement. Ensuring that work is executed in accordance with Wärtsilä Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental guidelines.

 

 

The following will enable you to succeed in this role:

 

Education: BSc or MSc in a relevant educational field. Experience: Work experience in a similar role, with a track record of enhancing team performance. Leadership Skills: Demonstrated leadership, coaching, and people management skills. People-Oriented Mindset: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on active listening, providing feedback, and fostering a positive work environment. Development-Oriented Mindset: A commitment to continuous improvement, with a passion for developing both individuals and teams, and the ability to encourage, challenge, and support change. Decision-Making Skills: Strong decision-making abilities, with the confidence to stand by decisions and provide clear direction. Planning Skills: Excellent coordination skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage resources effectively. IT Skills: Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office 365. Language Skills: Fluent Norwegian and proficient English language skills, both written and spoken. Technical Knowledge: Technical expertise is highly advantageous but not required.
