The Fugro office in Belgium offers specialized consultancy and engineering services worldwide in both the marine and land environments for projects in the energy and infrastructure markets.

Roles and Responsibilities As a Team Leader – Standard Laboratory at Fugro, you will:

Supervise and Coordinate: Efficiently and correctly collect, test, analyze, and evaluate geotechnical data within time, budget, and quality requirements.Technical Support: Provide technical support to engineers and scientists for data acquisition and interpretation through laboratory testing and analysis.Technical Insight: Knowledge of technical standards for relevant tests (ISO 17892 series, BS1377 series) and laboratory equipment maintenance, operation, and calibration. An experience with quality processes and ISO 17025 is an assetMaintenance and Calibration: Plan and oversee maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment.Team Leadership: Actively manage, lead, supervise, and monitor the performance of laboratory personnel, providing support and training in general as well as in lab-specific activities.Quality and Safety Compliance: Ensure the highest levels of quality and safety are followed by the laboratory personnel, implementing all laboratory and company-wide quality procedures.Resource Management: Ensure the needed resources in terms of equipment and materials are available to standard lab personnel to perform testing without any disruptions.Continuous Improvement: Take ownership in the evolution of the laboratory and contribute to the achievement of different projects, actively participating in technical discussions and decision-making.

Requirements We are looking for candidates who demonstrate technical excellence and thrive in a fast-paced engineering consultancy environment. Key requirements include:

Educational Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant area or equivalent experienceTechnical Insight: Knowledge of technical standards for relevant tests (ISO 17892 series, BS1377 series) and laboratory equipment maintenance, operation, and calibration.Language Proficiency: Proficient in English and French.Management Experience: Experience in leading medium to large teams (0-3 years).Interpersonal Skills: An open and respectful attitude with the ability to communicate effectively across different audiences.IT Skills: Competent in the use of Excel and emails.
