Summary:
The Team Leader in the Housekeeping Department is responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of housekeeping staff to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and infection control are maintained throughout the hospital. This role involves leading by example, providing guidance and support to team members, and ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and to the hospital’s quality standards. The Team Leader also assists with administrative tasks and collaborates with the Housekeeping Supervisor/Manager to enhance departmental operations.

Responsibilities:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate daily activities of housekeeping staff, including assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and ensuring adherence to cleanliness and safety protocols.Lead by example, demonstrating effective cleaning techniques, equipment use, and safety practices.Conduct regular inspections of cleaned areas to verify compliance with hospital standards, and provide feedback and training to staff based on inspection results.Assist in the training and development of new and existing housekeeping staff, ensuring they are familiar with departmental procedures and infection control practices.Address and resolve any staff issues, conflicts, or performance concerns in a professional and timely manner, and escalate issues to the Housekeeping Supervisor/Manager as needed.Ensure that all cleaning tasks and special projects are completed efficiently, meeting or exceeding quality standards.Monitor and manage the inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring that stock levels are maintained and that supplies are used effectively.Assist in scheduling staff shifts and coordinating coverage to ensure adequate staffing levels and continuity of service.Support the Housekeeping Supervisor/Manager in implementing and enforcing departmental policies and procedures.Participate in and contribute to departmental meetings, providing input on operational improvements and addressing any concerns.Handle emergency cleaning situations and special requests from staff or patients promptly and effectively.Stay current with best practices, safety regulations, and new cleaning technologies, and incorporate relevant information into team operations.Performs quality assurance inspections as assigned.Demonstrates flexibility with assignments within professional scope/duties/licensure.
