CDM Smith’s International Development Group is now accepting applications for the position of Team Leader/Hydraulic Expert for a donor-funded water supply project pursuit in Nepal. The Government of Nepal (GON) plans to seek loan and grant support from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) for the Second Kathmandu Valley Water Supply Improvement Project (SKVWSIP). To support efforts related to this exciting new project, the Melamchi Water Supply Development Board (MWSDB) plans to hire an international consulting firm/consortium as a Design, Construction Supervision, and Project Management Consultant (DSC). The consultant will oversee design validation, construction supervision, and project management for various components, including the WTP, Melamchi headworks, and the Kathmandu Valley Bulk Water Transmission Project. The consultancy services are planned to commence in early 2025 for 60 months.
Responsibilities:
The Team Leader will lead contract implementation to achieve successful project outputs as stated in the Project Scope by adhering to Schedule, Budget, and Quality. This will include but not be limited to:
• Lead, coordinate and monitor the activities of the team of experts.
• Review project documents in coordination with related experts and provide necessary suggestions/ decisions in a timely manner.
• Lead the preparation of various reports/ documents in close coordination with team members.
• Lead the contract management efforts of the DSC.
• Monitor the construction quality, progress and cost and advise MWSDB on contractual remedies where required.
• Monitor implementation of environmental and social safeguards.
• Lead DSC experts in discussions with MWSDB, ADB, peer reviewers, contractors and stakeholders. Other relevant works of the project
