Team Leader - Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Design

Overview We are seeking a full-time Team Leader - PCB Design in our Olathe, KS location. In this role, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of Printed Circuit Board (PCB) design and supervising PCB Design team members. Essential Functions Directly supervise various levels of PCB team members by setting the tone for the team environment and providing individualized coaching, training and mentoring Participate in recruiting activities, interview, hire, train, and evaluate performance for the team Manage PCB CAD (Computer Aided Design) tools and libraries and select and maintain PCB CAD software and hardware sufficient to support all PCB design activities Coordinate PCB CAD systems with managers at all Garmin locations Provide PCB CAD, PCB Design best practices, and PCB Design for Manufacturability training and reference material for Garmin Olathe and coordinate with managers at other Garmin locations for training and PCB design support Assign PCB projects to team members, balance the PCB Design workload, and resolve project priority issues Monitor the PCB design processes to continuously improve efficiency and accommodate growth Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in a related field AND a minimum of 3 years experience in an electronics design or engineering environment OR a minimum of 5 years relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule) Demonstrate a detailed knowledge of PCB design “best practices” and design standards for surface mount and through hole designs Possess a working knowledge of PCB manufacturing processes Must be positive, detail oriented, organized, team oriented and a driven problem solver, multi-tasker, and self-starter with the ability to prioritize and lead in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment Possess a working knowledge of electronic circuits theory of operation Possess experience using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or other mechanical CAD applications Ability to interact with stakeholders in a professional and timely manner Ability to effectively learn and apply appropriate standards, technologies, and processes Desired Qualifications Experience managing a PCB design team Previous Engineering leadership or mentorship experience Garmin International is an equal opportunity employer.
