Ford is investing $5.6 billion to build its state-of-the art manufacturing facilities at Blue Oval City in West Tennessee. The Tennessee Electric Vehicle Center (TEVC) will produce the next generation electric trucks, with production beginning in 2027. On 3,600 acres, we are building our first mega campus in more than a generation – and it’s electric. The Battery Pack Team Manager position at Blue Oval City – Tennessee Electric Vehicle Center (TEVC) will have a unique, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be a key member of the start-up team, launching the facility from ground up.
In this position…
This role will be responsible for leading a Material Handling team of hourly and salaried employees at the facility including, but not limited to:
Direct and control the management of production and non-production materials from the loading/unloading receiving/shipping docks, shipping/receiving CMMS transactions, line feeding up to the point of use to the production customer, which includes proper storage, material disposition, Hazmat, continuous improvement, PMHV equipment management, scrap/recycling production material, forward model launch timing, change control, synchronous material flow, marketplace mgmt., onsite switching, bullpen mgmt., container mgmt., and industrial materialManage the business with policy deployment objectives, implementation plans, and proper accountability. Conduct department reviews, which include status and improvement actions for safety, quality, delivery, cost, people, maintenance, environment and launch (S,Q,D,C,P,M,E,L). Maintain departmental budget and implement plans for continuous improvement in logistics, labor and overhead accounts. Develop and implement processes to ensure the effective training and development of department personnel and create developmental opportunities for direct reports. Administer salary performance reviews, reward and recognize, and address any needed corrective actions. Review, evaluate and implement future plans for new programs, which may include modification of plant equipment, resources, and/or facilities to determine the effect on operations. Provide direction and support to Material Handling personnel for operations. Work with our hourly partners to address any dept. issues or dept. opportunities.
