Position Overview

Under the direction of the Engineering and Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Team Manager provides leadership for a functional Maintenance Team within a high-performance environment. Oversees the daily management of the Maintenance Team and performance of the Plant equipment. Oversees and supervises Maintenance Work Leaders, Maintenance Planner, Utility Technicians, Electrical Electronics Technicians, and Maintenance StoreKeeper. The Maintenance Team Manager will supervise all Plant maintenance activities including all processing equipment, utilities, infrastructure using Total Productive Maintenance techniques. The Maintenance Team Manager will develop, implement, and maintain a robust Preventative Maintenance program that aligns with McCormick TPM Pillars. Other responsibilities include supervising contractors, forklift maintenance, storeroom organization, maintenance equipment, lubrication programs, root cause analysis, breakdown analysis, and support for cross-functional teams.

 

Responsibilities: 

Meeting or exceeding established goals Safety, Process Reliability, cost, waste, quality, and other performance standards. Leading the facility in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), developing a robust Preventative Maintenance system, support and completed Root Cause Analysis and Breakdown Analysis. Leading and developing all Maintenance direct reports while fostering a Team environment. Resource planning, daily management and implementation of key initiatives including Safety, Effective Maintenance, supporting sustained levels of Autonomous Maintenance, Develop and support equipment installation, training, supporting documentation. Maintains CMMS system and uses it to analyze Maintenance Team work orders, PM performance, critical spare parts, Maintenance Department  metrics, and equipment documentation. Identifying, analyzing, and reducing equipment performances an elimination of repetitive loss events. Manage maintenance contractors and maintenance spending, overtime, and budget.

 

 

Qualifications: 

High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent. 5+ years of demonstrated maintenance experience in a manufacturing plant. 3+ years of demonstrated experience supervising maintenance employees in a manufacturing plant. Experience improving Process Reliability (PR%), managing CMMS/SAP system, maintaining a Maintenance budget, maintaining relevant food manufacturing equipment (pumps, fans, blowers, agitators, etc. Expert troubleshooter and problem solver, excellent interpersonal skills, team leadership, and communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office.

7-9 years of experience in an Industrial Maintenance or Electrician role, preferably in the food industry. Understands Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and all safety requirements with working on industrial equipment (LOTO, Hot Work, Confined Space, electrical safety, chemical safety). Understands the fundamentals of material compatibility, sanitary design, equipment drawings, general utilities (gas, air, electric, water).

This position required excellent cross-functional communications skills. Provides mentoring, coaching and leading technology and technical skills development. Provides feedback to Production on problems and solutions; recommends improvements within the department. Provides support with training, learning and education as well as best maintenance practices.

The candidate should be very detail oriented, have strong interpersonal and teamwork abilities, demonstrated grammatical and organizational skills and must be a self-starter, who is able to work independently. Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Access, Project, PowerPoint, Word) required. Working knowledge of PLC, HMI, Work Order Systems. Must be able to lift 50lbs, work up to heights of 50ft, become forklift and man-lift certified.

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

 

Bachelors’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or relevant Technical Degree in Industrial Maintenance, Industrial Electrician, or equivalent. Food Manufacturing experience, Spray Drying, Liquid processing, and Ladder logic/PLC/Electrical troubleshooting experience.
