Tech Lab I (1st, 2nd, 3rd & weekend shifts) (Evergreen)

RESPONSIBILITIES

1 Independently performs, interprets and troubleshoots laboratory procedures related to unit and/or donor suitability testing and other assays as required. Develops proficiency in laboratory information systems and workflow of samples.

2 Performs routine analytical testing using manual and automated methods and procedures. Analyzes test results against set controls.

3 Completes maintenance and Quality Control (QC) per Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Works within the current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) guidelines and adheres to all regulatory standards within the Lab.

4 Shares information with internal contacts with common desire to reach a solution.

5 Follows all safety regulations, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) policies and rules. Maintains a clean, safe work environment.

6 Operates analytical instrumentation and technical laboratory equipment. Performs and documents troubleshooting and calibration of instructions. Performs and documents routine preventative maintenance of assigned instruments and equipment according to established schedule and procedure. Notifies Supervisor of unresolved instrument issues.

7 Other job-related duties as assigned, including training in multiple departments.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Education

Medical Lab Technician (MLT) or Medical Technologist (MT), licensure in the State of Tennessee preferredBachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institutionAssociate degree in a chemical, physical, or biological science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution

Experience

Two (2) years of related experience preferred

Additional Comments

Requires intermediate to strong computer skillsCommunicates effectively within the department and with other lab departments
