Tech-Mammography Mobile

 

Position Summary

Under the supervision of a Radiologist, utilizes specialized knowledge and skills to produce high quality mammographic images for screening and/or diagnosis, invasive breast procedures and DEXA exams for specified patient population.   Assumes responsibility for directing and controlling qualitative and quantitative standards of work performed at Bearden-Josey Centers of Breast Health.

 

Minimum Requirements

Education           

Associate’s Degree from an approved AMA School of Radiologic Technology

Experience        

Documented 40 hours of training specific to mammography as required by the FDA Documented 8 hours training in each mammography modality to be used to perform exam as required by the FDA Documented performance of 200 mammogram exams in the last two years as required by the FDA Documented 15 hours of continuing education , 3 years consecutively as required by the FDA

 

License/Registration/Certifications       

ARRT registry in Radiography with registry or registry eligible status in Mammography South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association Licenses Current Basis Life Support (CPR and AED) provider

Core Job Responsibilities

 

Perform screening and/or diagnostic mammograms and bone densitometry exams Assist radiologist with invasive breast procedures Review images for quality and tissue acquisition Explain procedure to patient reducing anxieties and obtain patient history relevant to exam As requested by radiologist communicate results to patient Open communication with scheduling and registration to ensure appropriate physician order is obtained Engagement with Breast Imaging Navigator as needed to assist with further patient needs or appointments Assists with quality control and maintenance of all equipment for Mobile Unit 1 and Mobile Unit 2   Travel to various locations across the Upstate of South Carolina as assigned Rotate schedule for after-hours based upon the need of community partners Monitor air quality and humidity of Mobile Unit 1 and Mobile Unit 2 Perform daily environmental service responsibilities for Mobile Unit 1 and Mobile Unit 2 Perform daily Mobile Unit inspection Perform daily Quality Control testing   Order and transport supplies Work independently without oversight High -level computer literacy and competency Ability to obtain an accurate patient history from patients using a Language Box or Language Services Have a unique ability to troubleshoot IT and also the ability to troubleshoot mechanical functions of Mobile Unit 1 and Mobile Unit 2 Perform complex tasks as it relates to the unique IT component of Mobile Unit 1 and Mobile Unit 2 Routinely assess remote capabilities Proactively manage daily schedule to determine appointment timeliness, image readiness, and the ability to take on walk-in appointments Coordination of laptops between Registrars and PRN staff Monitor image upload/transfer and confirm loading to PACS and Volpara to facilitate timely reading of screening mammograms Recruit eligible patients and provide community education Communicate with Mobile Caretaker regarding the need to repairs and routine maintenance Communicate with Mobile Unit drivers Serve as a liaison between the Mobile Caretaker and Mobile Unit Vendor Respond to medical emergencies and provide appropriate care as needed Assists in training of new staff and of students during clinical rotations Maintain knowledgeable of compliance and regulatory requirements and adheres to Federal, State, accrediting bodies, and standard practice of care for patients, staff, guests and community partners Provide education to employees of community partners across the Upstate of South Carolina Other Duties as assigned
