Position Summary:
The Technical Operations Manager Greenfield is responsible for the following items related to the India Greenfield Project (IGF):
Support the project design, ensuring the project meets the critical success factors and includes the right technologies and best practices to optimize profitable growthLead Commissioning, Qualification, and Verification (CQV)Support Start up Management (SUM) and the start up of the new facility
This role will have close oversight and coaching from the Technical Operations Snr Manager, Growth and Capex for technical input, effectively supporting the design, and leading the CQV process.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Develop mass balance for process flow design and User Requirement Specifications (URS) following global standards and meeting critical success factors as outlined in the project charterLiaise with engineering, technical and operational stakeholders to include user requirements, feedback and alignment with the team.Refer to completed drawings, technical details, commissioning checklists, and FDS (functional design specifications) assigned package(s).Ensure safety is a priority in both designs and execution of the commissioning. Build up and maintain a safe and healthy working environment by applying both McCain and local policies and regulations Closely follow the processing equipment installation on a day by day basis to flag potential (major) deficiencies so they can be dealt with proactively. Communicate back to Overall CQV Leader and work with Engineering and the Overall CQV Leader on solutionsLead multiple Technical Services Module Leaders in the execution of the commission of their respective processing modules (including dry runs, wet runs, commissioning product runs) and provide start up supportIdentify any potential delays in the timely execution of the commissioning process based on installation Propose solutions for deficiencies found and assign them a priority label Risks are highlighted and managed through the project risk management processCollaborate with Project Management team to ensure Best Practices are followed covering, Scope, Time, Cost, Quality & Risk ManagementProvide regular updates to the Project team and management team including escalation of issues that require support.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
Bachelor’s degree in food science, Engineering or related.5+ years of experience in Manufacturing, R&D, Technical Operations or technical support function in the food manufacturing industry, preferably the potato processing industry.Experience in the design, execution (CQV), and start up of phases of major capital projects
Technical Capabilities:
Strong technical aptitude, mechanical/electrical engineering, and/or plant automation, with the ability to improve process efficiencies - (Process engineering)Experience with electrical and controls systems design and programmingStrong analytical and abstract thinking skillsProblem solving skillsAbility to understand process flow diagrams, P&IDs, and process narratives,Experience in training and facilitationKnowledge of processing equipment, processing methods, manufacturing philosophies and basic manufacturing SOP’sExpertise in the validation and effectiveness of new technologiesExperience with start-up management concepts and equipment commissioning
Leadership Abilities:
Ability to build strong relationships with the key functions (Tech Ops, Engineering, and SUM team) and support their efforts through a collaborative approach. Ability to influence effective decision-making with cross-functional teams.Ability to work independently and within teamsProject management skills: resourcing and detailed action planning
