Tech Specialist
Site Name: UK – London – New Oxford Street Posted Date: Jan 7 2025 The Tech Specialist oversees the development and maintenance of software applications and acts as a trusted advisor and single point of contact for Tech related topics within their area of responsibility. This individual orchestrates business and Tech stakeholders and ensures the provision of technology-enabled business capabilities. The Tech Specialist also aligns and executes operational and project-level tech activities by partnering and working with Global, Regional, and Market Tech and Business units. In this role you will Manage the local application portfolio developed and maintained by a DevOps team through Agile methodology Support and act as a single point of contact for all Core Tech & Enterprise systems related activities and escalations within the UK LOC. Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and develop a team of developers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment. Project Management: Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of software development projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget. Technical Oversight: Provide technical guidance and support to the development team, ensuring best practices in coding, testing, and deployment. Vendor Management: Overseeing the relationships and interactions with suppliers and service providers to ensure that the business needs are met efficiently and effectively. Ensure business stakeholder satisfaction is regularly measured, analysed, and that necessary corrective and improvement actions are taken for services provided by local, regional, or Global tech teams or third parties. Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain quality assurance processes to ensure the delivery of high-quality software products. Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies, and continuously seek opportunities to improve development processes and tools. Serve as a technology business partner, working closely with business units to identify new opportunities to apply trend technologies. Focus on simplification, optimization, and engagement with clients, third parties, and patients. Lead and facilitate escalation processes, coordinating the Commercial Tech response to crisis situations, such as the unavailability of a critical system or data loss. Provide technical support and expertise to ensure market operations are fully aligned with company cyber and information security requirements. Why you? Qualifications & Skills: We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals: A strong background in software engineering, with proven experience in managing software DevOps teams. Extensive experience with DevOps best practices and pipeline management. Experience with Azure microservices Experience with vendor management Knowledge in .NET development, SQL/PostgreSQL, Databricks, C# Preferred Qualifications & Skills: If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus: Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills. Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. People management skills Ability to convey complex Tech discussions to non-technical stakeholders.
