In this position... 
Ford Motor Company is looking for a Lead Technical Specialist for Labels Design, Performance and Construction.  The role will focus on leading collaborative problem-solving on issues including interfaces with other substrates; serve as a centralized resource to Management, Production plants, Design and Release Engineers on all joining topics; and supporting current production and quality efforts. 

You'll have... 
Bachelor of Science in Materials, Mechanical, Industrial, Aerospace, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
5+ years of automotive materials experience.

Even better, you may have...
Master’s of Science in Materials, Mechanical, Industrial, Aerospace, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
7+ years of automotive materials experience. 
Demonstrated REG labels integration experience.
Familiarity with FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) and automotive quality standards.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize workload managing immediate and future needs.
Black Belt or Master Black Belt and Strategic Problem-Solving Knowledge.
Outstanding communication skills (open, clear and inclusive) up to senior management.
Outstanding leadership skills with demonstrated ability to deliver results.
High integrity with effective coaching and mentoring skill.

What you'll do...

Lead research, design, and test future technology development through implementation and lessons learned/issue prevention for all unique labels.  Oversee the development and release of label FMA, core specifications, foundation documents, system interface, etc.  Oversee the development and release of label documentation, best practices, diagrams, illustrations, policies and guidelines.  Stay up-to-date with label material selection, storage, surface preparation, application procedure, proper handling, removal and repairs and industry trends to make recommendations for improvements and upgrades Stay up-to-date on requirements for supplier artwork, consisting of file format, font, barcode, bleed/ live/ die-cut, ANSI safety color requirements for improvements and upgrades. Conduct bench and vehicle level testing, studies, analyses, identify root cause and define solution to verify functional, performance and regulatory requirements. Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure compliance Ford Global Generic Label Matrix (GGLM) per LQOS 570. Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure compliance to all applicable Ford, regulatory requirements, CDPR assessments cascaded by ASO/E&SC. Provide technical guidance across Vehicle Hardware Engineering team and the integration of all unique labels that support the company's goals and objectives. Excellent communication skills both verbally and written, with the ability to quickly understand and articulate complex issues. Troubleshoot and resolve complex AIMs, DURIS, Warranty Trends to minimize downtime and maintain optimal network performance. Act as a mentor and subject matter expert for junior team members and provide guidance and support as needed. Labels TS activities interfacing with: Supplier, STA, Purchasing VO / Quality / PVT Interface with ASO and E&SC VE
