Summary:
In cooperation with Director, assures that all technical responsibilities are addressed: Selection of test methodology; establish precision and accuracy; enroll and participate in HHS approved PT program; establish quality control program appropriate for the testing performed and establish acceptable levels of analytic performance; resolve technical problems and ensure that remedial actions are taken whenever test systems deviate from established performance specifications; ensure that patient results are not reported until all corrective actions have been taken and system is functioning properly; identify training needs and assure that regular training is provided; oversee competency of all personnel; participate/contribute to annual performance evaluation of testing personnel. Operate analyzers and assist with testing when needed. Other duties as assigned.
Provides technical supervision/oversight for assigned departments.
Responsible for ensuring that policies and procedures are in place to support quality outcomes
Implements new tests and test systems in accordance with regulatory requirements
Fulfills all general supervisor responsibilities in accordance with CLIA and CAP requirements.
Requirements:
BS in Medical Technology or related science required; Master's preferred
MT (ASCP) Certification or ASCP specialty certification preferred
minimum 5 years of clinical laboratory experience with at least 1 year as lead technologist, supervisor or equivalent
