Are you passionate about creating clear documentation for highly-complex systems? We may have the Tech Writer position you've been seeking! As a Tech Writer I, you will be using your skills and expertise to work with a variety of document authors to ensure the latest technical writing principles, practices, and standards are applied to every document SNC produces. You may assist in the creation of templates, process documents, reference material, and training products. In this role, you will also coordinate with Configuration Management (CM) staff to input documents into our product lifecycle management software and route them through the review, approval, and release processes.

Qualifications We Prefer:

Ability to plan and participate in Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) preparation, technical documentation, test plans,  procedures, and technical or operations manualsExperience preparing documentation with minimal input (written or verbal) from subject matter experts, such as design engineers and program managers, to prepare initial drafts and templatesUnderstanding of Microsoft Word and other elements of the Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Powerpoint) and Adobe publishing toolsFamiliarity in editing, layout, and production of technical documents which include graphics, tables, and other embedded contentFamiliarity working with internal teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of product and documentation requirements.Verify content meets applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended audiencePrior experience creating and maintaining documentation templates, layout guides, and graphics resourcesUnderstanding of  internal technical reference documentation, including data libraries, training material, process/procedure guidesKnowledge of techniques for reviewing, editing, and formatting business proposals, product management documents, RFP responses, marketing communications, and other organizational documents as requestedExperience with Adobe FrameMakerBackground in the Aerospace and Defense Industry or DoD

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $64,900.00 - $85,296.00. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors, such as candidates' key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.
