Job Description

The Technical Accountant participates in all aspects of the management, coordination, preparation, tie-out, and review of the quarterly Form 10-Q and annual 10-K filings with the SEC, as well as filings on Form 8-K and other required SEC filings. The role involves preparing financial statements of affiliates in compliance with US GAAP, completing GAAP and SEC disclosure checklists, and reviewing XBRL tagging of financial statements and footnotes. The accountant provides guidance on the adoption and implementation of new accounting standards and coordinates with internal stakeholders and external auditors on quarterly reviews and year-end audits.

ResponsibilitiesParticipate in the management, coordination, preparation, tie-out, and review of quarterly Form 10-Q and annual 10-K filings with the SEC, and other required SEC filings.Prepare financial statements of affiliates in compliance with US GAAP.Complete GAAP and SEC disclosure checklists to ensure compliance with reporting and disclosure requirements.Complete and review XBRL tagging of financial statements and footnotes.Provide guidance on the adoption and implementation of new accounting standards.Review, research, interpret, and provide technical support on accounting issues to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations.Act as a subject matter resource on reporting and accounting issues.Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external auditors on quarterly reviews and year-end audits.Work closely with Investor Relations to prepare and review presentation slides for investors and rating agencies.Prepare materials for board of directors’ meetings.Prepare accounting analysis for new lease transactions.Essential SkillsStrong understanding of US GAAP and SEC rules and regulations.Ability to draft financial statements and related disclosures.Advanced research and analytical abilities.Strong accounting, financial analysis, and problem-solving skills.Strong verbal and written communication skills to communicate complex financial reporting issues.Proficiency in Excel, including VLookup, Pivot Tables, and other advanced functions.Attention to detail.Strong project management skills and ability to work with minimal supervision.Ability to use standard office equipment.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.At least 5 years of previous accounting experience, with exposure to SEC regulations.CPA or CPA candidate preferred.Experience with financial institutions preferred.Experience with month-end reporting and journal entries.Work Environment

The position is hybrid, with a Monday to Friday schedule. The role involves strong interaction with external auditors, such as KPMG, and offers high visibility within the company. The accountant will collect and manage over 500 schedules from various departments, including Legal, Internal Audit, Treasury, Loan Accounting, and Credit Risk Management. The company offers great benefits, including up to 30% in bonuses and a pension after one year of tenure.

The pay range for this position is $130000.00 - $150000.00/yr.
