We are seeking a highly motivated Director of Accounting to lead our controllership functions and manage the implementation of a new ERP system. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in accounting within the technology industry, a deep understanding of financial reporting, compliance and operational efficiencies, and proven track record of success in controllership and overseeing ERP implementation.
In this leadership role, you will develop and mentor your team, oversee ERP systems and controls, partner with other business functions on projects, lead corporate initiatives towards process improvement and transformational projects to achieve best in class results, and develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures.
This position is best suited for an accounting professional who possesses strong communication, organization, technology, and leadership skills as well as enjoys working in a challenging, fast-paced environment.
What you will be doing:
Oversee the financial close and consolidation process, oversee internal financial reporting, monitoring status and issue resolution, as well as preparation of executive review packages and schedules for management reporting.
Manage various corporate accounting activities such as accounting for debt financing, derivatives, lease accounting, VIE accounting, investments. This position will also provide support to the external reporting team in the preparation of footnote disclosures for external reporting.
Evaluate and make recommendations for financial and accounting policies, process, and systems to streamline and scale with business needs.
Provide strategic thought leadership, driving execution and lead collaborative teaming across different finance functions. This position will take the lead to build structure, governance and process around complex finance initiatives or implementation of new accounting guidance to ensure successful execution and implementation.
This position will work in partnership with the global finance center and finance transformation team in planning and overseeing the execution of ERP implementation and other finance IT initiatives that are highly visible and critical to business. This position will also work in collaboration with IT and other departments to ensure system alignment with business processes.
Partner closely with tax team to provide various accounting support on tax related activities including transfer pricing, legal entity reorganization and other tax initiatives.
Guide and motivate a team of accounting professionals to grow their career including development of technical and presentation skills set. Provide mentorship to global teams, fostering a culture of collaboration between controllership and global finance center to support strategic initiatives and drive organizational success.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with Active CPA license
12+ years of relevant experience, including Big 4 public accounting and a global Fortune 500 company, preferable with high tech industry and controllership experience.
10+ years of people management experience including collaborating with global center of excellence, proven track record of attracting, scaling and developing teams.
Deep understanding and application of US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements. Strong understanding of technical accounting knowledge in treasury-related activities, share-based compensation, and financial reporting.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal and influencing skills. Ability to communicate with all levels of the Company.
Proven track record of scaling operations and driving process improvements.
Ability to work independently in ambiguous situations, evaluate key business challenges and direct the development of new or innovative solutions.
Excellent inter-personal skills and a proven ability to build and maintain stakeholder relationships at all levels.
SAP experience is a plus.
The US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is:
$144,000.00 - $299,000.00Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries of the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure and relevant education or training. The pay scale is subject to change depending on business needs. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process. Additional compensation may include benefits, discretionary bonuses and equity.
