Position Summary: To provide quality care to our patients while maintaining patient safety. Provides a wide variety of routine duties including clerical, technical and patient related functions. Assists our Imaging team including transport of patients, assisting with room turn around, preparing patients for their exams and effectively communicating. Must be able to resolve conflict and endure the pressures associated with a constantly changing work environment. Education, License & Cert: High School Diploma or GED required. Specialty or college level school preferred. BLS ‐ Basic Life Support Experience: Minimum one year of relevant customer service experience required, preferably in the medical field. Experience working with all patient populations preferred. Essential Functions: Transports patients to and from designated areas of the hospital, ensuring safe movement, approved body mechanics, patient safe handling techniques, and positive patient experience. Provides proficient patient care: Utilize customer service skills including proper telephone etiquette, AIDET, ability to relate to patient’s information, uses appropriate infection control measures and PPE, and demonstrates competency in patient preparation including room preparation and disinfecting of equipment and room post procedure. Demonstrates proficiency with Imaging operating systems: PACS, RIS (Radiologic Information System), message taking, exam tracking, image sharing and downtime procedures. Able to perform clerical duties as assigned. Assist the Imaging team with examinations in a confident and timely fashion, ensuring the patients safety, modesty, and comfort. Works as part of a team to maintain high Imaging standards: works cooperatively, communicates professionally with all team members, attends in services and meeting as assigned and works to keep moral high and does not complain to him /herself but strives to find solutions. Demonstrates a willingness to accept non routine assignments as appropriate and willingly helps without needing to be asked. Follows all rules and regulation set forth by the NYSDOH, Joint Commission, FDA, and NRC. Other Duties: Cleaning and restocking rooms daily. Ability to deal with stressful situations and think critically to solve issues. Reports QA and equipment issues to supervisor. Must be able to work all shifts and weekends on a scheduled basis. Must have the ability to react quickly in an emergency. Must be aware of all safety procedures and react accordingly. Must be able to lift, push, pull, bend, and walk to care for patients. Must be able to perform a standing pivot transfer with 100 pound plus patients.
