As a Technical Animator at Amazon Games, you'll blend art and technology using in house engine and tools. You'll create character animation pipelines, implement locomotion systems, and develop technical solutions for gameplay and cinematic animations, rigging and skinning. You will handle mocap and keyframe animations while building tools to improve workflow efficiency. You will solve technical challenges and ensure high-quality character performance.
Key job responsibilities
- Work with Designers and Engineers to understand and implement gameplay animation features, troubleshoot animation graphs and artwork.
- Facilitate the creation and implementation of tools and techniques that allow the building of complex and high-quality animation systems
- Innovate and streamline animation pipeline processes and workflows
- Create high quality animations supporting the newly developed behaviors and systems and implement them in engine
- Work with the animation leadership on defining and maintaining the style and quality bar of the in-game animation
- Be mindful of any performance issues and be responsible for making performance improvements.
- Take ownership of challenging projects and provide innovative solutions, including mentoring team members and creating documentation
