Technical Application Expert

Summary:
The successful candidate will have experience in either Papermaking, Forming Fabric field service, or manufacturing. Primary responsibilities will be internal Application in support of external Application and Sales/Service, with select internal functions supporting manufacturing, R & D, and quality. This role will include regular travel to papermill production environments with total travel up to 25%.
Responsibilities:
The Technical Sales Expert is responsible for all Internal design functions, including but not limited to.
Designing orders. Excellent communications with external Application / Sales to stay current with fabric performance (Salesforce visit reports, emails, phone calls…) Tracking and Applying design specifics by customer / position / application demands / customer objectives. Part of Peer Review discussions on requirements for trial Orders / modified Orders. Knowledge on how to capture fabric dimensions on a paper machine. Understanding of fabric relaxation / elongation behavior in the designing of fabric manufacturing lengths. Design work in JDE / GV2 setting up of new machines / positions in GV2 designing orders, making design changes in JDE Extensive knowledge of the Forming Fabric manufacturing process and capabilities to be a resource for: Quality questions and discussions. Support internal lab with used fabric analysis and reports. Help maintain drawings for Packaging, Wear Beads, Trim Beads... Knowledge of materials and the manufacturing processes in making Application decisions. Preparing recommendations, in consultation with external Application and Sales. Collaboration with field personnel in obtaining necessary paper machine information for application and production success. Validate this data in relevant systems (JDE, GV, Salesforce, etc.) so that it is available for design / manufacturing. Providing product training and supporting technical service Assisting with trial planning, trial evaluation. Representing applications/design in NCR investigations as needed. Working with the quality department to ensure product requirements are met.
Help establish, organize, and maintain a proficient Design and Development Program:
To improve application success rate. To implement development of new fabric designs To maximize efficiency by identification and elimination of non-value-added process steps and job functions.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.Education and Experience -
4 years + of related experience in fabric manufacturing, papermaking, or field service of Forming Fabrics. Experience working enterprise systems such as JDE, IBM/Lotus Notes, Salesforce and Microsoft Office products, or ability to quickly learn these systems.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to climb catwalks and stairs in production environments. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times. Travel up to 25% is expected. Must be able to travel by commonly available modes (car / plane / train)
