Discover Impactful Work:
As a Technical Applications Specialist I you will provide applications support and training to customers on Thermo Fisher Scientific allergy and autoimmune reagents, instrumentation, software and operation. You will act as a trusted expert to our customers, delivering an exceptional customer experience and contributing to the overall success of the business.
A Day in the Life:
Provides technical assistance via Technical Support Hot-Line, phone/email to customers, both external and internal, involving hardware, software and system operation.Evaluates customer inquiries and complaints and provides technical support to resolve them with outstanding follow up and follow through to close the inquiry/complaint to the customers' satisfaction.Guides the investigation of confirmed complaints to resolve root cause of the product deficiencies that lead to a complaint and activities needed for corrective and preventative action.Provides comprehensive operator User Training to customers for instrument systems in the portfolio, both in Home-office training lab as well as at the customer site.Performs performance qualifications (start-up verifications) on newly installed instruments as well as software upgrades.Keys to Success:
Education and experience
Bachelor’s degree in a biological science preferred, associates required + 2+ years of laboratory or related work experience.Medical Laboratory Scientist certification desired.Clinical laboratory experience highly preferred.Customer Service skills.Training experience is preferred.Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Mechanical knowledge and abilities regarding instrumentation preferred.Demonstrates clear and concise communications and is capable of interacting with a diverse population of internal and external contacts.Ability to travel up to 30%.This position does not offer relocation benefits.
