Technical Architect
Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) is currently seeking a seasoned IT professional for the role of Technical Architect. This critical position will be responsible for the leadership, facilitation, analysis and design tasks required for the development of an enterprise’s technical and infrastructure architecture. This role creates deliverables that help develop target-state guidance (standards, guidelines, individual parts, platforms and configurations) for evolving the technical infrastructure across the enterprise to enable business strategy and deliver targeted business outcomes. The architect will enable and orchestrate the delivery of targeted business outcomes through facilitating and making technical decisions.

This role will work closely with the technology portfolios to provide oversight, review, and approval of technical solutions. The Technical Architect will support the Enterprise Architecture group to analyze enterprise business requests and help to derive the future state technology architecture. This includes defining requirements, principles, patterns, and models that will impact the organization.

The ideal candidate has experience developing and deploying global technical solutions, expertise in multiple technical domains, and proficient in research, evaluation, and selection of technology solutions that are fit for purpose within the enterprise. This role will work closely with HFHI’s cyber security team and can assess risk for various solutions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Leads the analysis of the current technology environment to detect critical deficiencies, legacy and technical debt, and recommends solutions for improvement. In addition, leads the analysis of technology industry and market trends to determine their potential impact on the enterprise as well as on the enterprise technology architecture. (15%)
• Review and provide oversight on technology for EA Repository (10%)
• Helps the enterprise architect group define metrics to measure and demonstrate enterprise technology value. (5%)
• Coaches, mentors and collaborates with technical subject matter experts and EA peers to develop technology architecture that enables and drives new business capabilities and operating models. (5%)
• Oversees and facilitates the research, evaluation and selection of hardware and software technology and product standards, as well as the design of standard configurations. (20%)
• Collaborates with business constituents, other EA team members, project teams and staff in various IT functional areas as needed to fulfill the responsibilities described above. (10%)
• Documents necessary for enterprise technology architecture design and analysis work, possibly including project postmortem documentation and metric collection. (20%)
• Oversees, or consults on, technology implementation and modification activities (e.g., projects and products), particularly for new or shared infrastructure solutions. (15%)

Minimum Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 7+ years of design and implementation experience in IT with a minimum of three domains (i.e. infra, network, IAM, endpoint, storage, cloud, etc)
• 3+ years developing and implementing global solutions
• 5+ Years of Cloud Computing Experience using Microsoft Azure and/or Amazon Web Services
• Experience using Enterprise Architecture frameworks within an enterprise

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written, are required for daily interaction with both staff and team members.
• Strong technical leadership
• Knowledge of EA frameworks, guiding principle patterns
• Excellent analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting skills
• Excellent planning and organizational skills
• Knowledge of ITSM and ITIL
• Ability to understand the long-term (“big picture”) and short-term perspectives of situations and how they relate to achieving targeted business outcomes
• Ability to quickly comprehend the functions and capabilities of existing, new and emerging technologies that enable and drive new business designs and models

Preferred Requirements (in addition to minimum):
• Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Certification or AWS Solutions Architect Certification
• Network Certifications

The actual salary offered for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including location, internal equity and the candidate’s qualifications and professional experience. HFHI offers a competitive, comprehensive benefits package that varies by country and typically includes vacation leave, sick leave, personal days, health insurance options, retirement plan contributions and life insurance. For work locations in the US, the hiring range for this position is $104,210 to $122,600.

Staff hired on a hybrid basis in the United States near an HFHI office location (Atlanta, Georgia / Washington, DC and Americus, GA), are required to report to the office on Tuesdays.
