We are looking for a talented Technical Author to help create and build out a modern documentation and user assistance infrastructure. You will be a core part of the product management team working closely with engineering and product marketing to create resources that don’t just document what the product does but accelerates a user from novice to power user. This is a Hybrid role from our Croatia office reporting to the Team Lead - Technical Author.
Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate will be an experienced Technical Author who can work independently, with a sense of urgency and ability to multitask. Will be learning to use products independently, and participating in teams’ scrum meetings, planning sessions and demos. Maintaining existing documentation and, when necessary, creating new documents, including technical guides, release notes and online helps for internal and external audiences. Documenting and editing updates independently and while coordinating multiple projects. Writing documentation with a sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment, while also ensuring that documentation is well organized, methodical, and consistent. Using MS Word daily, as well as more advanced authoring tools, like MadCap and Adobe software, to document product updates.
Qualifications & Experience:
The ideal candidate will have at least 3-5 years' writing experience and the ability to self-edit. Excellent English language written and verbal communication skills. Experience with MS Word, MadCap and Adobe authoring software is highly desirable. Experience with Jira, Confluence and Bitbucket is highly desirable. Experience with Trados, OneDrive, HTML and image and video editing software is not necessary, but helpful. English language and literature degree (any specialization), or a degree in another language, literature, creative writing, communications, or related field. Interest in technology with a general understanding of technical concepts. Desire to seek information effectively and independently by interviewing subject matter experts. Adaptability and ability to learn complex technical concepts quickly. Good interpersonal and communication skills. Organizational and time-management skills. Agile experience a plus.
