Overview We are looking for an experienced Technical Business Analyst to be the vital link between the business stakeholders and the report development teams. This is a role where you will leverage both your skills in eliciting stakeholder requirements and data analysis to translate their needs into detailed, actionable tasks for the report development teams, ensuring the creation of credible, high-quality management information reports. You will become a deep subject matter expertise in our corporate solutions and associated data, which may include broking systems, our placement workbench, CRM, finance, as well as our data platform. As a key collaborator, you would work closely with both onshore and offshore MI teams, playing a crucial role in delivering positive outcomes for our stakeholders. Empower stakeholders with accurate and consistent insights into performance, whether related to clients, carriers, servicing, or operations. How you'll make an impact Requirements analysis Act as a bridge between business stakeholders, report development and testing teams. Eliciting, documenting and translating requirements into actionable, comprehensive tasks for report developers Validate data requirements through detailed data analysis relating to logic, data quality and availability Facilitate workshops and other requirements gathering activities and when required through thepillar-specific working groups Process mapping and improvement Develop and maintain a sufficiently detailed understanding of current business processes and how they translate to source system and data platform data Escalate issues pertaining to external processes that limit reporting capability e.g. required data not captured. Stakeholder management Regular engagement of stakeholders and developers in report development to enable continuous feedback and improvement Work with other Technical Business Analysts, Product Owners and Portfolio Managers to ensure cross-functional and cross-pillar sharing and collaboration. Testing & validation Work with business domain/report owners to coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT) with stakeholders Document and track bugs and enhancements as part of the report development lifecycle Portfolio management support Assist in detailed planning and roadmap production for pillar-specific activities – specifically in relation to timelines and scope. Support the report development lifecycle and planning processes through championing ofdevelopment methodologies and adoption of related tools and procedures e.g. Azure DevOps Data Steward interface Liaise with data stewards to ensure that data dictionaries, business glossaries, report catalogues and other data governance related assets reflect the current reporting position Inform Data Stewards about data issues identified through data analysis supporting the validation of stakeholder requirements Technology interface Support pipeline development and other integration related activities with subject matter expertise relating to MI report needs About You Practical experience in a similar role Expertise in eliciting, documenting and translating business requirements Experience of working with remote teams Strong communicator able to switch between technical and non-technical contexts Hands-on SQL experience (proficiency in querying and data manipulation) Practical, direct experience of using Azure DevOps Data quality principles Star-schema data modelling principles, understanding of relational models and data flows Ability to map business data requirements to system data structures (source-to-target mapping) Understanding of row-level security, role-based access controls and other data management principles pertaining to data security.
