Job Summary
The Data Enablement team at Compass Group USA are looking for a Technical Business Analyst to play a pivotal role in connecting business needs with technical solutions. You will engage with business partners across various groups to understand their data requirements, translate these needs into actionable technical specifications, and collaborate with our IT team to implement robust data solutions. Your expertise will ensure that our data initiatives align with business goals and deliver maximum value.
Key Responsibilities
Requirements Gathering and Analysis:
+ Collaborate with business partners to elicit, document, and prioritize data and analytics requirements.
+ Conduct detailed analysis of business processes and workflows to identify data needs and opportunities for improvement.
+ Create clear and concise documentation, including business requirements, functional specifications, and use cases.
+ Translate business data needs into technical specifications
Solution Design and Implementation:
+ Work with data engineers to design data solutions that meet business needs, ensuring alignment with technical capabilities and best practices.
+ Participate in the development, testing, and deployment of data and analytics solutions.
+ Ensure data quality, integrity, and consistency across all implemented solutions.
+ Develop queries and visualizations for ad-hoc requests and projects, as well as ongoing reporting
Business Partnership Engagement
+ Serve as a liaison between business users and the IT team, facilitating effective communication and collaboration.
+ Provide regular updates to stakeholders on project progress, challenges, and outcomes.
+ Conduct training sessions and create user documentation to support the adoption of new data solutions.
+ Have the ability to pivot on deliverables as priorities and communicate effectively with business partners.
Continuous Improvement:
+ Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in data analytics and IT.
+ Proactively find opportunities to enhance data processes, tools, and methodologies.
+ Contribute to the development and refinement of standard processes within the Data Enablement team.
+ Use analytical and statistical rigor to solve complex problems and drive business decisions
Job Qualifications
+ 4+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or Data Analyst, preferably within a data and analytics environment.
+ Solid understanding of data management principles, data warehousing, and business intelligence tools.
+ Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
+ Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical business partners.
+ Proficiency in SQL; experience with data visualization tools such as MSTR, Looker, Power BI, or similar is a bonus.
+ Experience with Agile methodologies and project management tools is a plus.
+ Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team with a diverse range of coworkers.
+ Comfortable with navigating conflicting priorities and ambiguous problems.
