Summary Job title: Technical Consultant, Information Software Job ID: 202498980003 Department: Software VAR Location: TX- Description Summary: The IS (Information Software) Pre-Sales Technical Consultant provides pre-sales services to both internal and external customers, focusing on the implementation and deployment of IS offerings. The primary focus of the position is to support the IS Sales Team in working with our customers on their opportunities by conducting discovery interviews with prospective customers and developing compelling presentations and demos of our solutions that align with the prospect’s required capabilities. This role also provides a consistent and efficient handover to our delivery organization and partners that help drive these engagements to a successful closure. The IS Technical Consultant will also be given assignments and job duties from the IS team manager that manage the technical consultants for the region. The position provides sales support to the Information Solutions Business Development Leaders, primarily within the assigned region as well as other key customer engagements from other sales teams. The role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to interact and influence effectively across all levels of the company. In addition, strong commercial, product/service/solution and application skills are necessary. This position requires moderate travel primarily within the division but could include opportunities in our other USA divisions. Preferred locations - Los Angeles, Kansas City, Louisville/Lexington KY, Vancouver WA, Pittsburgh Reports to: Managing Director - FactoryXT Minimum Qualifications: + Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, Operations Management, Informational Technology, or another Technical Field. + 5+ years’ experience in Manufacturing environments implementing or maintaining an MES and integrating to ERP, CMMS, PLM and other Business Systems. + Strong verbal and written communication skills in English + Demonstrable ability to work effectively and proficiently with the following: + Microsoft SQL Server (Configuration and development of SQL code) + Cloud Computing (Microsoft Azure) + Mobile Platforms and Devices (Windows Mobile, Apple iOS, Android) + Familiarity with various Microsoft Technologies + Visual Studio, SQL, SSRS, PowerBI, Office, IIoT Platforms + Programming experience in Java, JavaScripting, Python, R, C# or C++ or equivalent + Working knowledge of Industrial Control Systems (AB PLCs, SCADA, Historian, etc) and MES (FTPC, Plex, Scheduling) and CMMS(Fiix). + Familiarity with JavaEE technologies, like Java, Tomcat, JBoss, ActiveMQ + Authorization to work in the United States (without requiring work authorization sponsorship by CED now or in the future) Preferred Qualifications: ADDITIONAL COMPETENCIES: + Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. + Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work and is a self-sufficient knowledge worker. + Maintains all-around industry knowledge – continuous and discrete + Has a Continuous-Improvement Attitude + Customer-focused attitude + Ability to communicate and work with a variety of people not under direct control in a fast-paced team environment + Stays current and is conversant with the latest relevant technologies and competitive offerings Working Conditions: This position operates in a professional office environment and may require extended periods of sitting. Supervisory Responsibilities: No Essential Job Functions: + Work with Business Development sales representatives on sales strategies, plans and execution + Lead discovery sessions to understand the customer’s technical needs, wants, analyze the gaps, and propose solutions. + Proactively engage with customers to define the overall technical approach for MES solutions + Lead the development of solution architectures and develop detailed design specifications as needed. + Communicate with customer IT representatives to understand customer IT infrastructure and policies and to present solutions that fit into customer IT environment + Present qualitative and quantitative value of the proposed solutions + Create custom presentations and documents that clearly state customer business problems and solutions and benefits + Provide guidance to customers and implementers on ways to deploy proposed products including alternatives and their costs and benefits + Work with deployment teams (internal or partners) on deployment strategies and specific proposals as needed + Prepare technical materials, presentations, and tools to improve sales force effectiveness. + Serve as technical expert for pre-sale customers and internal events. + Lead the demonstration and “proof of concept” efforts for key software and hardware platforms. + ​Receives guidelines and goals on new assignments and is expected to develop their own plan to achieve these goals. + Assist with defining solution architectures and develops detailed design specifications as needed + Help define functional requirements through known industry standards, documentation + Actively participate on a technical project team, ensuring that effective relationships are built and maintained. + Ability to work with an ad-hoc team of individuals to meet a project goal. + Respond to RFIs and RFQs CED is an Equal Opportunity Employer - Disability | Veteran Compensation Range: The compensation range for this position is $ to $ Other Compensation: The following additional compensation may be applicable for this position: + Bonus Benefits: Benefits available for this position are: + Insurance - Medical, Dental, Vision Care for full-time positions + Disability Insurance + Life Insurance + 401(k) + Paid Sick Leave + Paid Holidays + Paid Vacation
