We are currently seeking a Technical Consultant to join our dynamic software development team in the northern DC area. The Technical Consultant will be responsible for integrating new hardware and software components, ensuring the integrated solution meets customer requirements, testing the solution, and monitoring production issues to ensure system functionality.
This junior position is also open to new graduates with the right mix of coursework and internship experience.
Position Summary & Key Areas of Responsibility
Integrate solutions to meet specified requirements and architecture.Troubleshoot hardware and software issues by collecting and analyzing data from live sites or labs to identify root causes and determine the best solutions.Develop scripts for installing or updating software and hardware solutions.Create and test machine baseline images that include the operating system and platform software.Test integrated hardware and software solutions in the developer environment (DIT lab testing) and validate designs against project requirements.Diagnose, isolate, and implement remedies for system failures (hardware or software) caused by code errors or hardware malfunctions, using system knowledge and software-based maintenance tools.Create documentation related to the integration of software and hardware.Install and maintain software and hardware in developer labs.Collaborate with business partners to identify, gather, prioritize, and incorporate business requirements into the solution.Maintain, administer, and support tools used in deploying the solution.Basic Qualifications
Associate or bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, or computer science or equivalent experience.1+ years of experience integrating software and hardware to build system solutions.Proficiency in developing high-quality scripts using scripting languages such as JavaScript and/or Windows PowerShell to manage Windows operating systems and programs.Good knowledge of the Windows operating systems platform.Familiarity with release management tools and the ability to create software installer packages using tools like InstallShield.Ability to resolve issues across the lifecycle, including production support.Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Point of Sale (POS) hardware and software.Hand on experience troubleshooting hardware issues.Experience with Linux.Salary Range:
$78,000.00 - $117,000.00Offers of employment are conditional upon passage of screening criteria applicable to the job.
