Technical Content Creator

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Technical Content Creator to join our Carmel, Indiana team specializing in Autonomous Solutions within the mining and heavy industry sector. You will be responsible for creating, revising, and maintaining high-quality Technical Documents including Operations, Maintenance, and Installation Manuals, work instructions and technical bulletins. This role requires a deep understanding of complex technical concepts, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to translate intricate functional and technical specifications into clear, user-friendly documentation. As a member of the Engineering Product Support team, you will work closely with the Product Management, Systems, Software Development and Control Systems Engineering teams based in Carmel, Indiana, in addition to distributed teams in the United States and Australia.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Develop comprehensive and accurate technical documents, including Operations Manuals, Maintenance Guides, and Installation Instructions for autonomous solutions in the mining and heavy industry Tailor documents to the needs of various audiences, including operators, maintenance personnel, and engineers and aligns with industry standards. Review regularly and update existing documentation to reflect changes in functionality, technology, processes, and user feedback Manage multiple documentation projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to deadlines. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and integration of documentation with overall project goals.

 

Key Competencies:

Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communication, Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in technical writing, with a focus on mining, heavy industry, or autonomous solutions preferred. Proven ability to create clear, concise, and accurate technical documents. Strong understanding of technical concepts and ability to simplify complex information. Proficiency in documentation tools and software, such as Adobe, Microsoft Word, or similar. Advanced knowledge and practical experience in utilizing SharePoint. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management abilities. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

 

Assets:

Experience with autonomous systems or robotics in the mining or heavy industry sectors. Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to technical documentation. Experience with content management systems (CMS) and version control.
