**Your role and responsibilities**
Are you a Content Designer with a passion for transforming functions and information into consumable documentation? We are seeking a talented individual experienced in communicating intent and meaning through documentation that inspire the user. As a problem-solving enthusiast, you bring an ownership mindset and a clear perspective to your work. This role offers you the opportunity to showcase strategic guidance, technical curiosity, and unwavering tenacity.
Responsibilities:
Technical Content Professional: Interpret research insights and build an understanding of the subject matter.
Translating Information into Compelling Visuals: Translate information into visual forms that make it compelling, easier to understand, and actionable.
Unified Visual Experiences: Design visual experiences that unify user and market insights while adhering to IBM's brand/design language.
Collaboration in Agile Environment: Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams of product managers, engineers, and designers in an agile environment to define strategies.
Team Culture Cultivation: Foster a healthy, collaborative, and trusting team culture. Feel comfortable giving and receiving feedback and asking for direction when needed.
Additional Responsibilities: Workload Management: Scope workload and plan for timely delivery of documentation.
Work with multiple stakeholders to recognize opportunities for improving team processes and optimizing the use of time and resources.
Strategic Implementation: Define and implement strategies to accomplish the vision and mission, communicating effectively across the organization.
**Required technical and professional expertise**
* 7-12 years’ experience developing customer-facing technical documentation in English language.
* Strong English language communication skills (written and verbal)
* Strong user-level knowledge of writing tools and methodologies like DITA or any other markup language.
* Foundational understanding of UX design and research.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and Adobe Acrobat.
* Expertise in producing multiple outputs from and coding in DITA/SGML/HTML/XML
* Experience and familiarity with Topic writing styles and approaches
* Experience with content management databases
* Experience in creating diagrams and graphics
**Preferred technical and professional experience**
* Master’s Degree in writing, English, communication, information design, user experience, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
* Proficient editorial competence, with the ability to follow and apply the IBM Style guidelines where appropriate
* Excellent teaming skills for collaboration across multiple development teams
* Strong analytical problem determination/solving skills
* Experience writing content for complex systems.
