Technical Coordinator, Global FX Operations

The Technical Coordinator within Global FX Operations (GFX Ops) plays a vital role in supporting the daily activities of our global FX trading operations, with a primary focus on the post-trade processing for our Chicago FX desk.  This role involves close collaboration with GFX Ops management, as well as partners in the Front Office, Compliance, Risk, and Audit.  The Technical Coordinator will also interact with clients, providing timely and accurate responses to inquiries. While primarily focused on daily execution, there will be opportunities for limited participation in special initiatives and projects. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in the fast-paced world of foreign exchange within a global financial institution.

Major Duties:
•Execute daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly deliverables related to FX post-trade processing.
•Provide comprehensive support to the Chicago FX desk, ensuring smooth and efficient transaction processing.
•Respond promptly and professionally to client inquiries, resolving issues and providing information.
•Collaborate effectively with internal partners across various departments, including Front Office, Compliance, Risk, and Audit.
•Contribute to process improvements and identify opportunities for increased efficiency.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation related to FX transactions.
• Proactively identify and escalate potential issues or risks.
• Develop expertise in specific operational processes, reports, and/or procedures, taking full ownership for their execution.
• Resolve complex transactions, applying expertise to interpret policies, guidelines, and processes.
• Represent the team on cross-functional process or project deliverables.
• Participate in special projects and initiatives as needed.

Qualifications:
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, including advanced functions such as VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with a globally diverse team.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Knowledge: 
• 2-3 years of experience in middle or back office roles within the capital markets industry; FX experience is preferred.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant job experience.
 

Salary Range:

$61,500 - 98,300 USD

Salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension), health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, spending accounts and disability), paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits. Northern Trust also provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.
