Technical Data Specialist

IDEXX is looking for a Technical Data Specialist. Price is a key growth driver at IDEXX and pricing data is critical in making strategic decisions. Therefore, the Global CAG Strategic Pricing Team is seeking a Technical Data Specialist to extract, store, automate, and visualize pricing data to enhance our decision-making for all things related to CAG product and service pricing.

The ideal candidate is highly motivated with strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills. This individual will be able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and communicate effectively both interpersonally and in written form across functions. Responsibilities will be focused on the technical aspects of managing pricing-related data. Our tech stack includes SAP, SQL, Snowflake, Tableau, and Python (desirable).

The role involves designing, building, and maintaining data infrastructure and systems to collect, store, and process pricing data efficiently. You will work closely with the Global pricing team and business stakeholders to understand data requirements, develop data pipelines, and ensure data quality and integrity. Additionally, you will automate data processes, and integrate pricing data with other business systems. Your work will enable the organization to leverage pricing data effectively for strategic decision-making and competitive advantage.

In this role:

You will be using multiple systems, you will take ownership to create, organize, validate, develop, reconcile, and maintain pricing datasets for analysis to be used by the Global pricing and FP&A teams, whilst improving data quality, consistency, and efficiency.

You will build an inventory of pricing data needed to implement the architecture and create a vision for how pricing data will flow through the organization.

You will strive continuously to improve pricing data for predictive modeling.

You will develop and maintain scalable technical reporting solutions and create dashboards in chosen reporting tools to be able to communicate findings and provide visibility to stakeholders.

You will support in producing and developing appropriate monitoring for pricing.

You will collaborate with stakeholders to identify and address pricing data-related needs.

You will proactively identify and troubleshoot performance bottlenecks and pricing data integrity issues.

You will develop, maintain, and optimize data visualization and dashboard designs.

You will create and maintain documentation for data processes and reporting guides.

You will provide ongoing maintenance and process improvements for pricing data initiatives.

What you need to succeed:

You are proficient in writing queries in programming languages such as Structured Query Language (SQL) and Python is a plus to have.

You have good experience with relational databases such as SAP and Snowflake.

You have experience with data visualisation and dashboard design best practices, preferably using Tableau.

You have a good understanding of data quality, processing, and data visualization principles.

You have strong data manipulation skills, and advanced Excel would be beneficial.

You have a natural curiosity and excellent data-gathering, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

You can translate high-level business requirements into technical solutions and actionable insights.

You have experience in designing and maintaining business reports.

You can demonstrate high levels of problem-solving skills & initiative whilst working to tight deadlines.

You can function in a fast-paced high-energy environment.

You have good written and verbal communication skills and can communicate technical content to diverse audiences.

You excel at planning and organizing your work and can prioritize and be flexible with changing business needs.

You are a self-starter and can work independently with minimal guidance, as well as in a team.

You have the initiative to improve documentation and support pricing processes.

Pricing experience is not required
