A Technical Delivery Manager is responsible for planning and executing complex software projects while championing development teams toward meeting deadlines successfully. This role combines project management, product development, and software engineering.

This role manages software application delivery within a project, and may oversee software delivery within projects, including estimations, capacity management, and clearing impediments for developers and QA. It involves supervising scrum masters, tracking performance, managing the SDLC, and ensuring data integrity. Additionally, it includes overseeing small development projects and optimizing cycle times.

Responsibilities

Developing and managing comprehensive software delivery plans, timelines, resource allocations, and estimations.Facilitating effective communication and collaboration between technical teams and stakeholders.Conducting risk assessments on a project, identifying potential roadblocks, and investigating and execute on solutions for items that are stuck.Driving progress on completion of software deliverables, identifying deviations from plans, implementing corrective actions, and ensure accountability.Ensuring adherence to established processes, methodologies, and quality standards.Coordinating and leading meetings, status updates, and stakeholder presentations.Ownership of progress reports and metrics for delivery.Mentoring, leading and providing guidance to technical teams, fostering continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.Analyzing software delivery projects performance metrics and identifying areas for process optimization.Staying up to date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies.Facilitating the resolution of technical issues and escalating concerns to appropriate stakeholders.Collaborating with cross-functional teams to align project deliverables with business objectives.Monitoring and analyzing team and individual performance.Cross-functional leadership and driving organizational initiatives to improve delivery processes and methodologies.

Education & Experience Requirements

Minimum of 3-5 years of project management related roles, development, business operations, or scrum master roles.Familiarity with several methodologies in development (e.q., Agile, Waterfall) and general tools such as (Azure Dev Ops, JIRA).Bachelor’s degree in business or related computer science. Strong experience may outweigh degrees.

Preferred Certifications

Project Management Professional (PMP)Scrum Master Certified
