Technical Designer, Nordstrom Product Group - Men's Dress Shirting and Tailoring, (Hybrid, WA)
Job Description

NOTE:   This position is offered as a hybrid role in the Seattle, WA area.  You must be willing to work in office at the Nordstrom Seattle office a minimum of 3 days/week to be considered for this position.

As a Technical Designer, supporting the Men's category, you will collaborate cross-functionally to deliver the technical design aspects and process for your products - ensuring they meet the Nordstrom Brand DNA. If you are passionate and experienced in technical design and are detail-oriented, obsessed with apparel development and committed to providing outstanding customer service, this may be the job for you. 

  

A day in the life… 

  

Collaborate with cross-functional peers and external partners to ensure product is aligned with development strategies and business needs and collaborate with stakeholders to streamline product development and production processes, escalating when leadership involvement is neededDevelop clear, concise Tech Packs to include measurement worksheet and construction images to align with Design intent and Brand DNAEvaluate samples to ensure product specifications, quality and construction standards are being executed and follow the sample through fit approvals to production to ensure intent is metCommunicate fit comments to suppliers to achieve desired correctionsBuild trusting relationships with suppliers and maintain close dialogue regarding capacity and calendarAlign and deliver to agreed calendar milestonesPartner with Pattern Engineer and Design Team on block pattern development to align with brand benchmarksAnalyze market research and customer review data to drive recommendationsConduct wear tests and schedule and lead fit sessionsCollaborate with internal teams to maintain sample organization throughout development and production lifecycleComfortably work across various categories and product typesParticipate in special projects as directedPartner with and mentor new-hires through various Technical Design stations of work

  

You own this if you have… 

  

Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Apparel Design, Apparel Manufacturing, Pattern Making or related field or equivalent industry experienceMinimum 4 years' experience in Technical Design or related fieldStrong organization and time management skills Clear, effective written and verbal communicationStrong interpersonal skillsAble to work independently as well as collaboratively

Pay Range Details

The pay range(s) below are provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different in other locations.

Washington: $77,969 - $132,000 Annually

This position may be eligible for performance-based incentives/bonuses. Benefits include 401k, medical/vision/dental/life/disability insurance options, PTO accruals, Holidays, and more.
