We are currently seeking Technical Director – Major Projects who will be responsible for leading the provision of engineering services for the project including the management of technical aspects, engineering assurance, reliability, and operational readiness to ensure the delivery of designs that meet project time, costs, safety, and quality standards.
The role also provides engineering vision, leadership and direction and specialist technical advice and interfaces with engineering and technical subject matter experts.
The Technical Director will be responsible for managing the technical elements of the program, ensuring a consistency of approach to technical matters, managing technical interfaces and oversee the strategic and operational delivery of engineering and related activities in the project.
Key Responsibilities:
Working with the Project Director to develop and manage business plans, budgets and risk management plans Control costs, review and improve business systems and processes, and report monthly on activities, performance, trends and issues against plans and budgets.Collaborate with other groups within the delivery team to ensure effective outcomes are achieved.Lead the management of design reviews and safety audits, ensuring the consistent application of standards and technical excellence and provide highest level technical advice for improved design solutions.Provide high level technical leadership and advice to the external design service providers and project teams and provide project coordination, contract management advice, managing and deploying unit resources and developing improved design solutionsAct as internal consultant on all engineering management matters with respect to designated disciplines.Key Experience & Capabilities:
Degree qualifications in engineering or a related discipline from an Australian University or equivalent. (Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics)Previous experience working with highly complex electronic security/building management systems and IT solutions10 -15 years of experience in control projects, with extensive design and construction contract knowledgeProven track record in a project engineering capacity involved in the delivery of large and complex technology-based construction and infrastructure projectsProven track record in leading and managing a team of engineers or external SME’s across multiple disciplinesExperience with and understanding of the legislation, policy, processes, and practices involved in planning for and delivering major projectsWho We Are
