As Technical Director – Office of CTO, you will lead groundbreaking technological innovation and drive product advancements in AI, Cybersecurity and Enterprise infrastructure.  Reporting directly to the Vice President, Worldwide Engineering, you will be a key member of the A10 Office of CTO architects group, providing thought leadership, strategic insights, and direction for A10’s future technology portfolio. You will incubate next-gen technologies, guide their design and implementation and measure success via KPIs and ROI metrics.

Key Responsibilities

Technology Strategy & Innovation: Stay ahead of market trends, identifying emerging technologies in AI, Cybersecurity, and Enterprise Infrastructure that can drive A10’s strategic advantageCustomer & Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with key customers and cross functional teams (including product management and engineering) to identify pain points, product gaps, differentiations, and business opportunities that can shape the product roadmapEnd to End Product Lifecycle Leadership: Lead the development of breakthrough technology solutions, from guiding design implementation and realization to deployment and post-launch analysisArchitecture & Design Expertise: Author clear, scalable architecture and design documents by breaking down highly complex challenges into actionable, implementable and maintainable solutionsTechnical Debt Management: Assess technical debt within A10’s existing systems and propose the most tangible, practical, efficient and impactful solutions to significantly reduce it, ensuring long-term system sustainabilityQuality Assurance: Oversee code reviews and enforce best practices and manage the translation requirements from product management to development, ensuring that the development process remains efficient, scalable and aligned with A10’s overall visionCross-Functional Collaboration: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in other teams: Product Management, TAC, GTM (Go-to-Market) and Finance to ensure alignment across teamsVisionary Leadership: Take a visionary approach to advancing the company's engineering capabilities, with clear plans for innovation, process improvement, and value delivery

Qualifications

Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)Experience: 15+ years of relevant software engineering experience with at least five years in a technical architecture role and a proven track record of successKPI & Performance Management: Demonstrated ability to establish and track impactful engineering KPIs to drive business outcomesCommunication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholdersCulture: Commitment to building and maintaining a transparent, inclusive and collaborative engineering cultureAgile Expertise: Experience work with Agile software development methodologies, especially in distributed team environments

Preferred Qualifications:

AI Expertise: Experience with cutting-edge AI technologies, including training and inference techniques, and how these can be applied to A10’s product portfolioDomain Expertise: Deep knowledge in one or more areas such as software development, infrastructure, or data engineering, with a proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive technical innovationStrategic Vision: Strong ability to think strategically, align technical initiative with business goals, and deliver results to drive revenue, reduce costs, or improve operational efficiencyCross-Functional Leadership: Ability to work closely with executives, product managers, and technical leaders to influence decision-making and ensure alignment on company priorities

Quantifiable Achievements: Demonstrated success in delivering measurable improvements, such as cost reductions, process optimization, or significant revenue growth
