Raycom Sports is creating and distributing video programming to sports fans across a broad network of digital video platforms, from owned web and mobile sites to YouTube to FAST platforms (Free Advertising-Supported Television). The network is responsible for developing, distributing, and monetizing on-demand and some live programming covering various collegiate teams and athletes on a daily basis. Job Summary/Description:
Raycom Sports is looking for a team-first, energetic, creative Technical Director with a passion for producing industry-leading sports video programming in the digital space. The ideal candidate will Technical Direct and deliver a video production of a daily sports radio show, creating a video simulcast of the show for our network. The ideal candidate can oversee and manage projects, enterprise fresh concepts and content, and work within a team to deliver the goals established by the organization.
Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Technically direct live shows, following a supplied rundown and making decisions to create the most visually appealing programming
* Pre-produce visual assets for the show – primarily a b-roll of game action highlights
* Produce professional-quality, finished, & live video programs
* Experience in modifying & integrating graphics and animation into the video and live video, (Ability to create graphics preferred) and providing direction for graphic elements and other enhancements within programming
* Post-produce short-form VOD programming from the show and deliver it to YouTube and social platforms for today's digital-first audience
* Work collaboratively with other members of the team to accomplish the programming goals and contribute to each individual's growth as a video production professional while advancing the goals of the business
* Produce live, or live-to-tape programming (Short to Medium in length) with the support of all appropriate technical positions
* Script writing as needed
* Properly upload and tag videos onto distribution platforms; Archiving ability is a plus
* Operate other content generation systems as employed by the business, i.e., cloud master control
* Coordinate with Brand Manager on initiatives and content strategy
Qualifications/Requirements:
* Preferred 3+ years working as a Technical Director in sports television, daily television, or digital production
* Must possess an ability to work quickly and accurately, simultaneously working on multiple projects in a single day and meeting intense deadlines
* Experience producing game-related sports content in real-time
* Familiarity with online, social, and mobile media practices, platforms, and strategies
* Knowledge of audio/video storage and archiving procedures
* Sports fan with specific knowledge of college sports
* Proficiency in cloud master control
* Proficiency with AVID Media Composer editing systems (Preferred)
* Proficiency in Adobe Media Suite
* Team player who enjoys working in a collaborative process
* Willingness to work varied hours including weekends. (Note: Our schedule largely mirrors that of the College Football and Basketball seasons and the school year as a whole)
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
* Employee is regularly required to stand or sit; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard reach
* Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds of production equipment
* Must be able to perform physical duties consistent with setting up a production studio such as bending, stooping, and kneeling
* Ability to work in an office environment with moderate noise
* Ability to perform computer work for an extended period of time
* Will be requested to work sports media business hours, including nights and weekends
* May be requested to travel for special events and related work
