Technical Documentation Engineer

Eaton's Life Safety division in Dubai is currently seeking a Technical Documentation Engineer.

 

The Technical Documentation Engineer will be responsible for designing and coordinating the creation of product labels and manuals for Life Safety product ranges. This role ensures the availability and accuracy of technical documentation within PLM/Enovia systems. Additionally, this role requires a blend of technical writing, project coordination, and graphic design skills. The resource should be able to support any product documentation across product ranges in Dubai.

What you’ll do:

 

Technical Documentation Coordination

Coordinate activities and tasks related to technical documentation across Life Safety departments, allocating resources effectively

Approve or reject technical documentation content, layout, and format according to LS requirements

Collaborate with external suppliers to ensure documentation standards are met

Manuals Creation and Maintenance

Define technical content in collaboration with LS departments for user manuals, installation guides, and dismantling instructions

Create 3D rendering views and technical illustrations using SolidWorks Composer and Illustrator

Layout manuals using CAO tools such as InDesign

Update parts, specifications, and bill of materials in the PLM system, maintaining manual revisions

Ensure adherence to Eaton chart and LS data management processes

Labels Creation and Maintenance

Define technical content in collaboration with LS departments for product and packaging labels

Create label drawings using CAO tools like Illustrator

Ensure compliance with Eaton chart and LS data management processes

Update parts, specifications, and bill of materials in the PLM system, maintaining drawing revisions

Validate proofs from suppliers or manufacturing teams as applicable

Continuous Improvement

Enhance current tools and processes related to technical documentation

Promote best practices and lessons learned across LS departments

Qualifications:

 

Bachelor’s or Master’s (preferred) degree in Engineering

Minimum 3+ years of experience

Skills:

 

Experience with CAO tools such as InDesign & Illustrator

SolidWorks Composer

ERP (SAP), PLM (Enovia)

Project coordination experience

Proficiency in English

French or German language knowledge is an advantage

Excellent organizational and multitasking skills

Attention to detail

Ability to organize and prioritize tasks

Team spirit
