This role is for a Vehicle Propulsion Systems Engineering Calibration Technical Specialist for Air Charge Estimation.

You'll have...

B.S. in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical) or other B.S. in Engineering. 6 years minimum work experience in powertrain Calibration engineering. In-depth background and knowledge of the powertrain calibration development process.   Ability to teach / train powertrain engineers in calibration related information. Expertise in powertrain controls software use and development. Superior planning and coordination skills and a good working relationship with peers. Extensive expertise in powertrain calibration and systems interactions (engine, transmission, mapping/PTDyno, fuel economy, emissions, drivability, OBD, etc).

Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, and leadership behaviors.. Understanding of aircharge estimation methodologies including Turbo, VCT, EGR, Electronic Throttle Control and other factors. Capable of presenting complex technical information in an effective, clear and concise manner. Have consistently demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills.

In this position...

Provide technical leadership for Air Charge Estimation for vehicle propulsion systems calibration to deliver powertrain attributes. Lead calibration workgroup (via Cal PAT meeting) to ensure calibration commonality among powerpack applications. Serve as mentor/coach for feature and commodity calibrators and guide issue resolution.

What you'll do...

Develop new and innovative techniques to continuously improve quality, reduce cost, meet program timing, and improve calibration efficiency. Lead interface meetings to ensure proper alignment between hardware, calibration, and program targets. Review and ensure completion to calibration release checklist. Promote/lead the use of the latest calibration tools and methods (CFX, Calibration DVP, Electronic Evidence Books, etc.). Ensure that current calibration guides reflect latest best practices & lessons learned, and develop/maintain assigned calibration guides. Lead in-vehicle or lab data acquisition using ATI and other systems as required to support calibration development and signoff including test trips.
