BS-Engineering required. 5+ years of experience in damper commodity. Extensive component engineering design & release experience in suspension tunables including specific experience on launch. Extensive experience creating and managing DFMEA/PFMEA/SCCAF/Control Plans/ drawings. Experience with CAE tools and methods. Be the pre-eminent expert on how damper, air suspension, ride height sensors and components are failing in the field. Drive key stress factors into specifications and test methods to eliminate HTIS failures. Author and maintain semi active damper, air suspension and ride height sensor design engineering specifications. Lead technical design reviews with application supervisor for System/Subsystem/Component. Coach, Mentor, & Train Suspension D&R engineers across all the global regions Integral to Signoff of System/Subsystem/Component with specific signoff responsibility BEFORE Chief Signoff via the Technical Design Review Process – creating and maintaining TDR job aids. Create/maintain Generic FMA documentation, SDS/Requirements and Test Procedures. Partner with R&A to identify and develop new technology in dampers and mechanical ride height levelling. Develop damper, air suspension and ride height sensor supplier strategy with purchasing matched pair. Conduct global supplier onsite reviews at component plants and recommend best practices for manufacturing process and quality control. Provide technical support to the Architecture, Core, and Applications teams for the development of dampers, air suspension, and ride height sensors. Develop and own interfaces with interfacing component/systems on boundary diagram including joint specs and device transmittals. Partner with Simulation Team to improve tunable models for use on full vehicle simulator. Conduct benchmarking to optimize component design for future programs. Provide Technical leadership to broader Underbody Systems engineering teams. Leverage CAE modelling capability to optimize quality, maximize efficiency and minimize cost.
