Payment method for employees assigned to this job is “APO, lump-sum, fee-for-service.” MAJOR DUTIES + Provides professional instruction based on approved course syllabus. Ensures that desired course outcomes meet the stated objectives; + Prepares curriculum and syllabus for coursework taught; + Evaluates students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives; + Administers and grades class examinations; + Maintains records of student attendance and grades; + Attends in-service training, workshops and seminars, as needed; + Maintains program certification requirements; + Ensures safety and security requirements are met in the training areas; + Assists with recruitment, retention and job placement efforts; + Meets with students, staff members, supervisors, as needed; + Participates in assessment, planning, budgeting, and staff development; + Performs other duties as assigned. COMPETENCIES + Skill in developing lesson outlines and materials + Knowledge of vocational area of assignment + Skill in presenting subject matter + Skill in administering tests to evaluate progress + Skill in the use of computers and job related software programs + Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with adult learners + Oral and written communication skills + Knowledge of student information systems MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS + A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in the teaching discipline, or an associate degree from an accredited college or university and demonstrated competencies in the teaching discipline + Required Active License/Certification: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) accredited by the National Board of Surgical Technology & Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA); American Heart Association BLS Provider + Minimum of three years of documented experience as a CST in the Operating Room scrub role or as an instructor in surgical technology, or a combination of both within the past five years PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS In addition to the minimum qualifications: + Prior teaching experience + Excellent written and verbal skills COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS + Hourly + Salary commensurate with qualifications and relevant experience + Not eligible for benefits NOTICES + For assistance/accommodations with the application/interview process, contact April Bentley, Human Resources Coordinator at abentley@southernregional.edu or 229-217-4255. + All required education credentials, license, certification and/or registration must be submitted prior to employment. + References will be checked. + Post offer requirements following a conditional offer of employment to include a criminal history records check, a motor vehicle records check, and as applicable, pre-employment/random drug testing, credit history records check, fingerprinting records check, medical examination, psychological screening, and test for deception.
