Our Opening and Your ResponsibilitiesRole/Purpose:The Technical FSM Bending Machinist I is responsible for the Brake Press, uses brake presses and miscellaneous equipment to create, shape and customize materials into a variety of forms as dictated by mechanical prints while maintaining safety and quality standards.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Reads blueprints from designers and engineersRuns bend and forming operations using standard diesOperates Manual Box Brake, Slip Roller and GMC Power RollerPerforms routine preventative maintenance on machineryFollows the work schedule as assigned, ability to layout the correct priorities for the work scheduledEnsure all parts produced is confirmed in SAP, tagged and stagged in proper locationsPerforms routine preventative maintenance on machineryPerforms Quality at The Source checks on made partsAccurately records actual labor estimates on all production ordersKeeps work area(s) clean and organized to 5S standardsAdheres to all company policies and proceduresOther duties as assigned
What You Need to SucceedRequired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Numeracy skills (press brake tonnage, nomincal pressure, bending moment and bending force)Checks height, depth and thickness using micrometers, dial indicators, calipers, gauges and other precision-measuring instrumentsProficient in reading and understanding blueprints and engineered drawingsAbility to load and unload machines with various types of materialsAbility to prioritize and problem solveSAP system experienceBasic Lean Manufacturing understandingAbility to multi-taskAbility to perform duties using imperial and metric measurementsAbility to follow written and oral instructionAbility to stand, walk, and bend for long periods of timeAbility to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.Ability to work in a high paced environmentBasic setup knowledgeDetail orientedDexterity, good hand and eye coordinationSafety Awareness
