Description We are looking for a dedicated Technical Help Desk I to join our team. Based in Saint Paul, Minnesota, this role provides an opportunity for you to utilize your skills in a dynamic environment. As a Technical Help Desk I, you will be responsible for providing technical support to users, resolving issues, and maintaining system operations. This role offers a long term contract employment opportunity.
Responsibilities:
• Provide technical assistance to computer system users, ensuring efficient resolution of issues.
• Communicate effectively with users, answering inquiries regarding software or hardware operation.
• Conduct system diagnostics to investigate and resolve problems, ensuring smooth operations.
• Install software and perform hardware testing remotely when necessary.
• Manage time effectively, demonstrating an ability to work independently.
• Use knowledge of circuit boards, processors, and other electronic equipment to aid in problem-solving.
• Maintain records of data communication transactions, problems, and remedial actions taken.
• Utilize knowledge of computer software such as configuration management software, desktop communications software, operating system software, and internet directory services software.
• Read and refer to technical manuals to further aid in problem resolution.
• Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills, maintaining high levels of customer service. Requirements • Possess strong customer service skills to effectively cater to user needs and concerns.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for clear and efficient problem-solving.
• Proven ability in training others, sharing knowledge and best practices.
• Experience in operations, ensuring smooth workflow and timely resolution of issues.
• Familiarity with 'About Time' software to manage and track tasks.
• Proficient in using the internet for research, troubleshooting, and remote assistance.
• Ability to answer user queries professionally and promptly.
• Experience in deskside support, providing hands-on assistance when required.
• Proven capability to resolve issues quickly and efficiently, minimizing downtime.
• Knowledge of configuration management to ensure system stability and performance.
• Understanding of different operating systems (Windows, MacOS, Linux, etc.).
• Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with team members and users.
• Familiarity with computer systems, including installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
• Knowledge of desktop hardware, including assembly, repair, and upgrade.
• Experience with computer hardware, diagnosing and resolving hardware-related issues.
• Ability to maintain records of issues, resolutions, and user feedback for future reference.
• Proficient in written communication to document solutions and create technical manuals.
• Experience with data processing, understanding how to manage and manipulate data.
• Knowledge of circuit boards and other electronic equipment used in computer systems.
• Ability to provide technical assistance, explaining complex issues in an understandable manner.
• Familiarity with technical manuals to assist in troubleshooting and problem resolution.
• Experience with electronic equipment, understanding their operation and maintenance.
• Knowledge of directory services, managing user access and permissions.
