Amazon.com
Are you excited by robotics and the latest automation technology? Would you like to be a contributing part of Amazon's exciting growth? Do you like impacting tomorrow - today? Answer yes to any of these and you should be a part of the Robotics Deployment Engineering Team.
Key job responsibilities
As a Robotics Deployment Technical Infrastructure Program Manager (TIPM), you will have the responsibility of overseeing multiple project managers and engineers or a program involved in deploying Amazon Robotics solutions. This includes deployments at both new construction sites and live fulfillment centers. The program manager's role entails tracking the progress of these projects, including deliverables, budget, scope, resource constraints, vendor performance, technical challenges, and escalations from both their own team and partner teams. They will be managing several projects simultaneously throughout the project lifecycle, from planning and execution to closeout, with project duration ranging from weeks to months.
The ideal candidate should be proactive and take independent initiative in managing their program. They should be able to identify opportunities and risks within the partner teams they work with. Their leadership and communication skills are expected to be strong, as they will collaborate with multiple stakeholders, both internal and external, to ensure smooth execution of projects, especially when escalations arise. The programs they manage may be in any stage of a product's lifecycle and may experience significant growth during deployment cycles. Therefore, the candidate should be capable of scaling with this growth, supporting hiring and development efforts.
The Program manager should be able to build out new work scopes on a program including generating RFPs, set requirements and SLAs for vendors, managing resource expectations, and tracking hardware development from post concept to implementation. As a program manager, you will typically own either a full program or a program region. It will be your responsibility to set standards and maintain quality within your scope of responsibility. The role requires comfort in dealing with highly technical work scopes related to the installation of robotics equipment, as well as addressing typical project management escalations that may arise during installations at construction sites or live operation warehouses.
Project duration can range from a few days to several months and include travel across the US and should the candidate be open to it some international work.
This position requires 30-40% travel. Valid US driver’s license required.
We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations: Seattle, Boston, Austin.
