The Technical Inside Sales Engineer - Applications Engineer is responsible to optimize the proposed design, issue drawings, prepare all RFQ to Pall suppliers, run all the project mechanical clarifications with our suppliers, close all the technical bid evaluation with them, issue the project firm costing, lead the risk assessment and OFMEA. He/She will work closely with other support departments to ensure readiness of the design, the costing solution and drive customer satisfaction .
This position reports to the CST Manager in Korea and is part of the Energy+ business unit located in Tokyo, Japan and will be an on-site role.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
The customer Relationships: Establish and maintain Sales, Key customer relationships, acting as a trusted technical advisor, reliable on commitments for design or costing delivery.The value proposition: Understand the client RFQ and scope requirement and set up the Pall Design value proposition in coordination with salesThe custom Solution: With the technology and sizing defined, select the right design to fit with the client’ specification (To the Spec offer), work closely with the rest of the CST team, the sourcing/operation team to lead the cost bridge reduction for all projects.The technical expertise: Provide advanced technical support to customers, having deep knowledge of pressure vessel manufacturing in all steps, leading complex mechanical clarification and close all open points before order. Act as a trusted technical advisor, offering optimized, innovative, and customized solutions to win projects.The design lead : Lead the design and mechanical technical inputs of the projects, be the front runner to support the sourcing team to meet/talk to the suppliers, make sure we can get their offer aligned with the project specification and on time. Actively participate to the project strategy calls. Evaluate planning and technical risks, take decisions, and ensure countermeasures are in place. Lead through DBS mind set and tools.The essential requirements of the job include:
Mechanical engineer with several years of experience in the pressure vessel manufacturingFrom 7 to 12 years in the same field of activity for technical support and knowledge on Global Key EPC’ Specifications and large project pre order executionFluent in English and Japanese, other Asian languages will be beneficialProficient in the use of Autocad, PVLite/Compressor, Outlook, SAP, Sales Force, MS Office computer applications including Word, Excel, and Power PointMust be objective and measurable, e.g., education, years of experience per GCRF job leveling guidelines (do not cap years of experience), specific systems proficiency or industry experience. Do not include soft skills.
