Title: Technical Installation Consultant
Location: Texas, Virtual
We are seeking a Technical Consultant LV SME to provide expert guidance and support to our customers throughout the installation process of Low Voltage cabling (Copper & Fiber) and IT equipment. You will collaborate with Project Manager’s, LV installation technicians, commercial general contractors, and customers to ensure seamless implementation, address technical inquiries, and deliver exceptional customer service. A deep understanding of LV infrastructure design and installation is essential, along with strong communication and problem-solving skills.
The position requires an understanding of Low Voltage (Copper and Fiber) data cabling infrastructure design and implementation, working in a commercial construction environment, networking equipment installation, and working with LV techs, General Contractors, and customer technical resources to complete large scale retail LV and IT sites.
Pre-installation consultation:
Assess initial customer LV prints and technical requirements to determine and create a final LV print. Perform site walkthroughs and construction meetings to identify potential LV and IT equipment installation challenges. Provide detailed information on LV and IT equipment site installation requirements.Installation support:
Collaborate with LV installation technicians to ensure proper implementation.Address technical questions and concerns during the LV installation process. Troubleshoot LV and IT equipment installation issues and provide solutions.Post-installation guidance:
Conduct periodic site reviews and verification to confirm the LV installation meets the expected completion requirements. Provide comprehensive completion documentation. Address customer concerns and resolve post-installation technical issues.Technical expertise:
Maintain in-depth knowledge of the Customer’s installation specifications, technical capabilities, and installation procedures. Stay updated on the Customer’s installation requirements to adapt and communicate any new store technologies into the deployment process. Interpret the technical documentation and provide clear explanations to the customers and installation technicians.Required Skills:
Strong technical knowledge in relevant field (e.g., LV cabling, networking, audio-visual systems, security systems, electrical systems)Strong experience with the use and training of power toolsExperience in Retail Store LV and IT equipment Installation.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with customers and technical teams.Problem-solving abilities to troubleshoot installation issues. Ability to read and interpret technical documentation.Customer service orientation with a focus on customer satisfaction Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Successfully completed complex LV installationsAbility to travel (1 to 5 overnight duration trips per site) frequently and as required by customer and deployment schedule for site meetings, site inspections, and site issue resolution.
