The Installer is responsible for the installation, wiring, testing, and commissioning of control panels in various municipal water, wastewater and stormwater systems. Experience working with electrical systems, attention to detail, and commitment to quality will ensure the successful implementation of SCADA solutions for our clients. This position will be based out of our Melbourne FL office, but will require regular travel throughout the state of Florida and surrounding states.
Job Duties:
Panel Installation:
Install SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) control panels and pump controllers in designated locations within municipal water, wastewater and stormwater systems
Follow engineering drawings, layout plans, and installation instructions
Mount control panels securely on walls, equipment racks, or designated supports, ensuring proper alignment and clearance for maintenance access
Connect power cables, signal wires, and communication cables to appropriate terminals, connectors, and devices within the control panel enclosure
Wiring and Termination:
Perform wiring and termination of electrical components, including PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), dedicated pump controllers, relays, switches, and sensors, according to wiring diagrams and schematics
Verify proper routing, bundling, and labeling of wires and cables to facilitate easy identification, troubleshooting, and maintenance
Ensure compliance with electrical codes, standards, and safety regulations during all wiring and termination activities
Testing and Commissioning:
Conduct functional testing and verification of SCADA control panels and pump controllers to ensure proper operation and functionality
Test individual components, circuits, and control loops to verify electrical continuity, signal integrity, and adherence to design specifications
Troubleshoot 4-20mA analog control and monitoring circuits
Collaborate with SCADA engineers, technicians, and stakeholders to troubleshoot and resolve any issues identified during testing and commissioning
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of installation activities, including work logs, as-built drawings, and equipment inventory
Document any deviations, modifications, or changes made during the installation process and communicate them to project stakeholders
Generate installation reports, test reports, and commissioning checklists to summarize project status, findings, and completion milestones
Safety and Compliance:
Adhere to safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), safe work practices, and compliance with site-specific safety requirements
Ensure that installations comply with applicable regulatory standards, building codes, and industry guidelines for electrical installations and equipment
Job Requirements:
Proven experience in electrical installation, wiring, and terminations, preferably in industrial or commercial environments
Familiarity with SCADA systems, control panels, and industrial automation equipment, including PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and communication protocols
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications
Strong attention to detail and quality, with the ability to follow written instructions and work independently or as part of a team
Excellent problem-solving skills and troubleshooting abilities, with a methodical approach to diagnosing electrical issues and implementing solutions
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders
Commitment to safety, quality, and customer satisfaction, with a proactive attitude towards learning new skills and techniques
Willingness to work flexible hours, overtime as needed and travel to various job sites as needed to meet project requirements and deadlines
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent. Technical certification or vocational training in electrical systems, instrumentation, or industrial automation preferred
Driver’s license with clean, insurable driving record
Physical Demands:
Body Positions: Includes standing, sitting, walking, lifting (up to 60 lbs), talking and hearing safety alerts
Ability to climb antenna towers up to a maximum of 35 feet, with appropriate safety equipment and training
Work will be primarily on job sites outdoors in hot or cold temperatures
Hearing protection and other personal protective equipment will be required on some job sites
